A year ago January, I started trading live with a live acct at GFT. I started out by risking way to much on trades, was trading news on ocassion and made a few good trades. But as newstrading took a dive, I ended up with about $400 profit on a $10,000 starting balance after 4 months. At one point I was up by more than $2500.
I started to trade charts and pretty much ignore fundamental data. I ran into a group here on Forex Factory and began trading within a group outside of this forum. It was almost exclusively a charting...
hello bristol this is Carlos , I'm glad you are doing well, I'm sorry to say that are friend Dana is not doing that well, he is in a hospital with cancer and that is the reason why he spell you he wasen't thinking right he was confusing people not reclinising things and all that, but I'm glad my friend that true his teching you made a lot of money, I'm realy happy for you, I'm here in arizona working in a hotel, tiling you know my second job, I'm not trading since november when i lost the acc, waiting to start again when I get some money, well my friend enjoy your reguards and take care, be well and god bless you

It's always great to read/hear about someone spanking the market/broker and to see that they were actually able to withdraw their money successfully. I seem to read such horror stories sometimes. Enjoy it, no doubt you have earned it.

C'mon, Bristol, you love to brag ... and $177k is some good change... BUT in my first 3 years trading I had at least one quarter each year in which I made >$100k. I thought I was a genius, but I wasn't : I was just lucky, using systems and methods that were in tune with the market and which later collapsed.

It has taken me years to start grinding out what I call my "daily breakeven target" of $500 / day. Part of that process has included learning to live in fear - thanks to the inestimable Ed Seykota - although I appreciate that comment may sound weird. It just means appreciating the positive intention of fear when trading, but that is a subject for another thread ...

So hold onto that $177k, understand your edge (if you've got one), and turn it into $1.77m .

OK, posting break over, back to my charts...
What I'd like to see is someone ( I hope myself) make a decent lucky run and take the cash and bank most of it and live off of it and study the market and then go back to trading after learning more
