short term momentum strong as i type this and price action shows to be in an uptrend. au has very strong fundamentals compared to most currencies and stands to benefit most from any strength out of china.
(edit) looking at the day chart minus short term fluctuation looks to be very strong.

it was actually the minutes that used strong placating language which suggested the cuts series may be over.

that sell off was rather strong done out of fear it seemed that everyone was dumping at once but paused. perhaps on the verge of tanking or some serious ranging with major ups and downs. there's more down volume now to study.

that's a tough question. i was just thinking by the look of the pattern that there might be another pull back but if volume continues to be consistent to selling it will likely follow through. it had seemed that it didn't want to fall but that is in question as i type. on the fundamental front there is important data coming out but i think at the moment all eyes have to be on the equities. if the uptrend is in jeopardy it will cause alot of market nervousness and it hasn't traded at these levels in a while - i'm speaking primarily of the dow. alot of fundamental data as applies to currencies has been particularly reactive to sentiment data and to some extent dismissing other data. hope that helps.

yeah i've been thinking about that pair but want to keep my concentration on gj. i'm guessing buy the dips there but would have to look into better.

would have to get above 148 i imagine for it to be possible to make a run at the previous peak.. circa 151.50

I've just read through the statements from Governor Stevens and i must say even though he does touch on the fact that the government has done a fiscal stimulus with interest rates at a low , I'm not sure why everyone is excited that there will be no more future cuts. He did after all explicitly highlight that there was scope for further modest reductions

the next 4hr candle if it closes above this one at this price or higher will be extremely bullish.
(edit) although we will have to stay above 148.00.

perhaps they would change their mind if inflation continues to deflate. i think oil will range between 50-55 but if it goes higher they won't be cutting rates i imagine and perhaps raise sometime in the future should inflation become an issue (above 65). i would think they would want real rates to be positive and would want to cut more if there's room to should inflation remain tame. i know there are other factors to inflation besides oil but oil price is going to be a major major factor.

my 5,15,30m charts turned bullish but 1,4hr are still bearish. i'm waiting for a close on the 4hr to reassess.

How is any one thinking bullish when yesterdays daily candle looks like this and the 4 hour QQE is bearish, Im not forecasting anything, but GJ is going down at least to the lower daily trend line
