HOWEVER KEEP IN MIND THAT THE EA HASNT BEEN PROPERLY TESTED I have made magic number function, but i'm afraid it still doesnt work if EA is used on multiple charts at the same time..please test it out and let me know if it does or if it doesnt..i gotta go out in a few minutes and cant test it myself..

Than you for improving your EA. Yes, we will have to test out the "Magic Number" function to see whether or not it is working correctly.

I will have my computer turned off starting tonight through Monday. So I will not be testing it during that time. I will be out of town and I don't like to keep my computer constantly running while I'm gone. Hopefully others here will test it while I'm away.

I am not asking for these things to be changed or for any new EA to be made but just saying what I see as problems with it for me.

The angle thing may be something people use but by the nature of how Cornflower works when the EMAs are lined up the market will have been running and some angle will be present, I know they can flatten out when...
Bob - If you want then you can use a demo MT4 broker to try the EA, but of course it is up to you whether or not to try it.

In regards to it being a free EA, you are right, Postrock has been gracious enough to make the EA for free, so I am not making any demands that it perfom in any certain way. I am just glad someone has finally made an auto-trade Cornflower EA.

As for the angle of the MA's, yes you are right in that they kind of naturally get into an angle once they are lined up in correct sequence. Maybe its not such a big deal after all to have the MA's in an angle. I guess we will know more whether this is needed after it is thourghly tested.

I will test this on 8 pairs (EU,UJ,Uchf,Ucad,GU,Eaud,EJ and GJ). For now , I am thinking of a risk to reward ratio of 1:1. But who knows in future, it may change.

Please remember to download the new improved EA. But remember, Postrock says it may not yet be able to trade many currencies at once on one trading platform. So test it out first ... then we can let Postrock know if it is working or not.

As for a new thread for the Cornflower EA, I suppose we could start a new thread. It is up to you guys if we should start one.

Hi All - I am certainly interested to see progress on the EA. It is likely there is more interest than appears at the moment - Never buy version 1 of anything.
I'd love to see it work out.

I was asked to post a 1 hour trade but it's been a while since I took one, 2 weeks ago I took a 4 hour trade on the EUR, my trade was the 2nd blue arrow, put a stop entry order above the bounce candle and moved stop up as it went, all up took 400 pips profit. The other arrows are just to show a few other entrys.

The 1 hour charts are good you just need more time than I have at the mo to watch

Below are some 5 min Charts from the EurUsd. The Dates are the 26th and 27th of last week. I took most of the trades in the blue boxes and took about 150 pips profit in those two days.

I'm just letting you know your new EA appears to be working correctly. It has taken many trades from many different currencies - with many trades running at the same time - just as it is suppose to.

As I mentioned from my previous post, I've been away from my computer (and had it turned off) since last Thursday. I returned home late yesterday afternoon and set up my computer to try the improved version of your EA. I have 2 demo accounts - Interbank for 1 hr chart trades and FXDD for 5 mn chart trades. Here are my settings for each account:

Interbank

Time Frame: 1 hour
Trading Time: 24 hrs a day
Number of currencies I am trading: 10
Bar: 0 (I do not fully understand how the "Bar" number affects a trade, so I just left it on "0".
MA Trigger: 6 EMA (I am testing the 6 ema as the trigger because it always seems to work better for me than the regular CF ma's)
Stop Loss and Take Profit: 30 SL & 60 TP for 9 out of the 10 currencies (the exception is the gbp/jpy of which I have a 50 SL & 100 TP)
trading direction: Long & Short

FXDD

Time Frame: 5 min.
Trading Time: from London Session open at 3am est to U.S. close at 5pm est
Number of currencies I am trading: 10
Bar: 0 (I have the bar at this number for the reason mentioned above).
MA Trigger: 12 EMA (I decided here to use the most commonly used CF ma trigger)
Stop Loss and Take Profit: 15 SL & 30 TP for 9 out of the 10 currencies (the exception is the gbj/jpy of which I have a 20 SL and 40 TP)
trading direction: Long & Short


Keep in mind that I am only testing these settings. I plan to test different stop losses and take profits, and I plan to test in order to find the best MA trigger. I also plan on testing other aspects of the Cornflower system. Another good thing to test is the "trading direction" setting (the setting is called "positions" on the EA). Right now I have my 2 demo accounts set to take all Long AND Short trades. Actually, I think the smart thing to do is to make the best estimate of the most likely direction the market is going and set the setting for that direction (example, set it "Long" if you think the market is going up for a particular trading day or session).

So far in the 1 day of trading with the new EA, I have had more losses than wins. I haven't exactly calculated the dollar amount result, but it is negative amount for the 5 mn chart account, but positive amount (in profit) for the 1 hr chart account.

But remember, I am totally in testing mode right now, and also it has been only 1 day of testing for me. So don't read too much into those results.

I agree it is better to have another thread for the Cornflower EA. Hartnet had mentioned earlier in this thread about how Lever70 (the originator of the Cornflower system) preferred a separate thread from her thread if an EA was ever made. I suppose I could use the thread in the Programmer section of the forum, but it really makes more sense to use the “Trading Systems” section for the Cornflower EA, because very basically the Cornflower EA is a trading system. Therefore, here is the link to the new thread for the Cornflower EA:

Hi iceman, I have been experimenting with the CF on the 5m for some time now but I wanted to know what are your rules for entry? Do you wait for the candle to close or do you just enter when price reaches that zone?

Also, can you let me know how you handle your exits including where you place your stops? Do you take a portion off at a certain point and let the rest run or have a different approach to exits?

Glad to know someone else that is on the 5m charts.

I have my ema's at 16, 24, and 43. Those have worked best for me since late last summer. I wait for them to align/stack in a direction and wait for a pullback to the 24. I will take that position but if I miss it I will take an entry at the 43 if it retraces that far.

I do NOT wait for any candle to close. I enter at the moving average.

My stops are typically at 25 pips. I will place as close as 20 and as far as 30 pips. This is more of a gut thing and by that I mean when I look at the chart does 20 look way to close? Does 30 pips look way too far away from entry? On more volatile days 20 will look so darn close that you know you are going to get bumped. I don't do a stop any bigger than 30 because I usually don't go for much more than that on the profit side.

I take all position off of table at one exit point which is typically 20-30 pips profit. I did trade before where I scaled off to try to catch a bigger move but I realized that there is a double loss and you have to make that back up with twice as much profit. It gets too complicated at that point.

I do like to target pivot points sometimes or significant S/R. Also, I will take a look at the hourly cornflower chart to see if I can target a close, longer term EMA. So, there are times when I do let a position go for much more profit but not that often.
