Spud, thanks for the great document. I have been reviewing it all day and hope that I'll be able to use the knowledge you've shared to contribute to this board. I also wanted to say that it's an excellent idea (time permitting), how you posted the actual chart frames to show us what you saw in the stochs before entering a trade. I hope you continue to do this as it allowed me to reference on my own charts and see what I missed. Thanks for everything!!!

I'll try to post charts after trades on my down time so we have something to reference. I probably won't post "optimum" or obvious charts ...just the ones that have something that is a little different than normal. I doubt I'll be able to squeeze the charts in before a trade unfortunately...they just take too long to make. However, I'll point out where too look on the active chart and try to mention any peculiarities as we go.

@ 4:00 all except the 30m are about the same direction (south) . Would this be a good trade (short) when the 30M heads south?

Hey Spud,

Just made 19 pips on a short trade starting around 6-7PM CST! My server was crashing so I bailed early, but my intentions were to run it up to even more.

"I've thought about perhaps a "trader support club"...having an interactive web site to help those with small accounts get going. Perhaps we all start with $500 in our own accounts and aim to make our accounts reach a certain figure by a specific date, etc. Trading is a lonely place for new people and I think having the knowledge of being in a group and everyone trading the same way would be a positive re-inforcement. It is so much harder to trade with a $500 account and get it off the ground. Just a thought at this stage. Maybe from this we could start a 2nd pip bank for the Spudfund where maybe a small percentage goes into it from everyone and then we all vote where the fund goes to."

Long @ 234.32

15 min stochastics has been going up for a while, 30 minute has confirmed confidently, and 1 hour has just crossed over, looking to head up. 3-hour doesn't look too convincing, but we'll just have to see. I realize this is not "optimal", but looks good enough.

Just a word of warning that this trade will probably develop very close to GBP interest rate news at 7:00 am EST this morning.

Also, don't forget the golden rule of patience. Wait for the stochastics to make their move....don't make the move ahead of them.

Could you comment a little bit more on why you are NOT in this trade given that what I said above is true? Are you just cautious due to news, or is there something I'm not seeing...

This looks pretty convincing to me. 15m is lat against the top, 30m has moved down and back up, 1h moving up and the 4h just turned north. Looks like a long run up, potentially...am I reading this correct?

I also use another broker (GFT) and wanted to display the charts but the stochastics look different. I noticed that the default price for GFT is the close and the default price used on metatrader is High/Low. Which one are you using? (my guess is High/Low but I just wanted te be sure)

The only problem with this entry is the 15M and the relationship to the 1H and especially the 4H. The 15M is very high, the 30M is extremely whipsawed. Given the 1H and 4H haven't reached the 20 line, this is a risky entry. My expectations would be a whipsaw in the 1H.

You must have made some pips on the trade as I see it went up to 74?

I'm cautious of the interest rate news to be sure...that is the only thing that keeps me on the sidelines. I felt the 8:00 GMT trade was too early, I would have waited for the down cycle and traded the short more than the long as my expectations are that the 4H and 1H are headed closer to 20 over the longer stretch.
