hello guys,

v08 took a buy trade today in the morning at 9.00 german time zone. i am down to -50 pips but still in the market. demo account @ activtrades (england).

BUY signal at 1.3716. (IBFX 08:00)

DD -53 pip
hm... noticed something...

every time of DD of -50pip, I should have a step order with another 20 pip profit from there with SL 50 pip which is same as first rtade.

eg:
trade BUY at 1.3716.
SL 1.3616
TP 1.3736

DD reach -50 pip,
another BUY order at 1.3666
SL 1.3616
TP 1.3686

My FXDD Demo took a EUR buy at 1.3667 for a +20 pips at 6:30 platform time. Curiously, it also took a GBP sell at 6:11 for a loss.

EUR is doing well. It has a 6/1 win lose ratio for me this week. Testing around the clock.

I think having another order triggered once you hit the 50 pips DD will have similar results as setting a 100 pips SL on the original order, that is - Sometimes it will save some of you losses but when it doesn't work you will be hit hard.
Personaly I don't think it is worth it.

I have been following your EA from somewhere around the middle of the old thread (1M scalping) and I am very imperessed with it. I am running it on demo for the last two weeks with very good results.

I don't think you will be able to make it a 100% winnig trades. 70% - 80% success will be great. The rest is up to money management to make sure the bottom line is profitable.

Looking forward for further development of this EA

I had same trade last night as wizhoo. Got the +20 before the big tank. Talk to you all over the weekend.

same thing here,the last buy trade hit the -100p hard stop.
Happy to report that the version R8 EA attactched to my live IBFX account is now taking trades. Not so happy that there was a a 20 PIP win and a 100 PIP loss to start, but am only going 10 cents a pip, so no big deal. Also, these two trades were almost identical to the ones taken on my FXDD account, with just a one pip difference on the entries on both.
Has anyone done a back test on this EA to see if a 50 pip stop is better than a 100 pip stop?
Mine did the same thing. 20 Pip win, followed by a -100 pip stop loss. I'm on an IBFX Demo with y'all!

I agree Oren, played last week with a 20tp, 50sl on 10 pairs and ended up losing 300 for the first time with Siobi's EA. Actually thats not bad at all considering what the markets were doing. I like the 100sl, 150tp and 25ts. I don't mind losing 100 every once in awhile as long as the bottom line ends with profit at the end of the week. One of the golden rules of trading is let your profits run and with a 20tp we are not doing that. Will keep the thread informed. Thanks Siobi....Dan

A more important question is if you did some backtests and found your above settings to be profitable? In principle of course you are correct anyway, just wondered about backtesting since none of my computers are up to the task apparently. For some reason - I guess because they are all loaded up with anything and everything - optimized backtests work painfully slowly, at best.
(Not at all for v104)

I want to go live with a relatively larger acct. but I can't even get any trades at all on my $100 live fxdd acct. I think it goes without saying that I'll need optimized settings with profitability before I feel comfortable though.
(Had 18 and 0 on fxdd demo, and then went live and no trades for me and bad trades for everyone else. Just coincidence???!!!) I sure hope so, otherwise the pitchforks will be coming out of the barn!

Didn't back test this Dan, but up until last week was using the 110/150/25 settings with a steady 250/400 hundred pips weekly, changed over to the 20/50 settings and lost 300. The markets were crazy last week so not a real good test for the new settings, I'm trading 10 pairs which of course this ea is set for only eur/usd. I feel better with a 100 pip sl so the market can breath a little more, and I've always thought to let ur profits run and cut ur losses short so this week it's back to the 100/150/25 settings. Trying to get those 10 pairs I'm trading down to 4 and will go live with those if ever thing continues to run right.

Siobi is a very smart, Conservative trader and has the right approach to getting 20 pips daily as his goal. 20 pips daily with the right mm puts you into big bucks within a year. The only trouble I have with his approach is that 1 loss equals 5 wins. It's all a question of balance. I test 5 different ea's weekly and really like this EA. Of the 5 I test only 2 survived with profit last week they are a semi-martingale (big profits) and fabturbo (small profits but profit). Will keep the thread posted. Thanks Siobi....Dan

Yeah Par that 1 to 5 bothers me to. Been thinking about a 20sl and 20tp just to see if the indicators Siobi uses will kick us towards a winning % (give us a steady 60% win 40% loss and we are all on easy street). Cheers bud......Dan

Siobi, All,

Did some backtests. Results attached.
I run the tests on the last 3 week. Since I'm running this EA in demo for the last 2 weeks logging all activity I was able to tell that the backtests are pretty close to what hannped in real time.
I checked different Stop loss, Take profit and Trailing Stops.
I even checked what happens on 15M time frame and how r7 is doing.

Each can draw his own conclusion, since we might have different trading styles (like different risk taking) the conclusions may differ. Parhaps I'll write my own later

hi all,
I had carefully gone through R8 and found that the main problem for the last losing trade of 100 pip is due to the redraw of Slope Direction Line!!!

in R9 dated 23th version, I'll take care of it and hope this will not happend again.

tentative release date will be on 29-Mac-2009.
