good point iopoipoi,
Here is what I mean with clear trend

Clear down trend
when the chart turns red and the arrow pointing down and the candle pattern confirm it ( I suggest U to learn candle pattern, I got this suggestion from Phillip Nell with his great 4H MACD strategy), thats where the high probability of the next daily candle move down. if one of this indis is not in the line it means that u have to becareful, or much better not to trade, trade 7 days a month is enough to have "maybe" arround 1000pips.
U can use your own indis as...

Personally i really like this EA due to the fact that it does work good in trending markets. I like to determine the trend for myself based on breaks of highs, lows, candle stick patterns, current events and other things. I also like the level of customization that any person can do with it for there own style of trading as well as different currency pairs. I have not driven this ea any direction the last few days because i am a bit unclear right now but early this week and last week i did manage to bank a few hundred pips on the EUR and GBP on my live and even more on my demo. Thanks Samurai for helping out.

I'm fairly new to this forex game but I love Firebird and believe it's one of the all time Great EA's. I think you're really on to something with this "Drive the Trade BUT I don't see how to do it the way the EA is writen. Can you please explain how to do it.

Thanks in advance.

I want to verify your EA setttings...

I determine trend and only go long or short trades based on trend...no problem.

You are using a 100p pip take profit, a 300 pip s/l and a 40 pip step, is that correct?

Are you leaving all the other EA settings to default at this time?

I have the other kind of fire bird, but I ever got loss too
I still use this EA with add manualy indikator in my chart I add Std Deviation
and I just switch on this EA when Std Deviation beetween 0,001 - 0,002
The Weakness is when EA make new order ( max order =6 ) the 1 until 6 using 0,1 Lots. I prefer when this EA open order, the first order must the smaller lots (mini=0,1 and micro 0,01) and the next open use 0,2 /0,02 (always increase the lots to hedge the price in the next new order)

I can't modify this EA because I'm newbie

someone please help me

Hi guys,
I'm aTOTAL newbie at this and TOTALLY ignorant. I downloaded firebird v.1.03 yesterday evening on my Demo a/c and just added SL function @25 pips. No other changes. Today morning I find that I have $1000 in profits but, the amount of trades this version enters is phenomenal. It takes on 7-8 trades in a total of 3 pairs i.e. Eur/Usd, Gbp/Usd and Aus/Usd. It opens up 2 to 3 trades in each pairs, sometimes in one direction and sometimes in opposite directions.
My question is how do I control this? Making profit is fine but if the market reverses I may get a margin call. Demoing is fine but if I'm to use this EA on real a/c I may land in big trouble.
Any ideas on this?
I have put MM on so it takes on fractional lots but the sizes start increasing after some profit so now it is becoming dangerous it seems.
Any feedback from experienced users is welcome.
Because of SL function activation the profit is limited but drawdowns remain big.

Vinesh

For a 5 Digit Broker,

Firebird v 1c

Does the Pip, DVlimit , Pipgoal or piploss setting need to be changed????

for v3.2
Does the Hedgetakeprofit, hedgestoploss, hedgelotfactor, slip , DVlimit in addition to above need to be changed??

Hi Samurai,

I have read your posts with great interest.

I would like to try it out, but it is not clear which version of Firebird you are using. Can you clarify and if possible supply links where to download it together with the necessary indicators.

I have been testing Firefox 63G for some time have have been having trouble with excessive drawdowns. I have also been trying opening two charts of the same pair, one using the EA on "buy only" and the other on "sell only" hoping to produce a hedging effect when the market is trending. So far, not too successful.

Many thanks in advance

Cheers

Samurai,

I have been studying yr drive system.

From my understanding, Firebird is built to profit from trades in BOTH directions, opening trades when it feels the trend is changing.

By driving the EA in a single direction, say we drive long in a DAILY CHART UPTREND, we will be missing out on profitable sell trades in a retracement in a 5M chart !!

Will our overall profit be lower compared to leaving the Firebird to open up trades as it sees fit???
