Hi , I 'm not sure about I have all correct trades from feb. for 4H system , but can say this month was negative about 600. Please correct me if am wrong.

Things will come back. The system is losing at the moment but is still good imop

Thanks for the reply peter...exactly my point...i am trying to get back into the system at this time, like i said i have been out for a while. My biggest drawdown period was around 650pips and then like a rocket everything turned around and within a week i was at BE. I was just trying to find out if anyone is actively trading the method and what drawdown they were at right now and you answered my question. (it gives me an idea anyway)

Your right Jt...i couldn't agree with you more, this system is all about the drawdown and whether a trader is using the proper MM and has the right mindset to with stand signifigant drawdown periods. I will admit it does help to have confidence in the performance of the system and i did see that first hand in the last quarter of 08.

Lets face it there are very few system traders burning up the world right now with the market ranging like it is, unless they are doing it with smaller timeframes. They can have scalping...i've lost too much $$$$$$ in the past trying to become profitable with that style.

Hey guys sorry I havent been around for a long time. I have a lot goin right now at not much time to teach the system. Im getting married for one. Anyway as far as trading goes I am now trading a new system. Its basically the 4H system on the 5M chart between 2-3:30AM EST and its working kinda well. I will be outlining the rules and opening a new thread at some point to teach that new system. Alright guys I hope all is well for everyone and I will be around again soon. I know Ive said that before but this time I will lol. Alright look out for the new system it will be up soon

Good to hear from you Sterling. I have been using a modified of the system from 2-6 EST on 5 min. I do the first BO, then wait for divergence. You are working a very thin time period there. Of course London will go DST on March 29th, so the time will be 1 hr earlier. I am finding 5 min in my times is very dependable used with divergnce on a 14, 5, 5 stoch. Sometimes there is no trade at all, but win % is very high. 15 min works well with that too. Im hoping your system works better than mine, then I can go to bed earler!

Please give us more details of your modified system maybe with a couple of charts, any reason why from 2 to 6 only?

Yeah it is a small timeframe but that is when the most action happens during any given day. The asian market is closing and London is opening so you have them not only closing positions for the day but also London is starting to open all there positions for the day. Look at how many good signals are given at exactly 2AM give or take 5 minutes. And the are very reliable. Anyway I will go more in depth later. The way I will outline the system will be completely mechanical like this one but I will let everyone know right now that I dont trade it completely mechanical so I will be more open to discussion about other ways to effect the system in a positive way. Alright Ill talk to you guys later and I will have the thread opened sometime this week.

Well for one thing I don’t know how to put chart pictures on the thread so it would be great if someone would help me with that. Like Sterling said, there are a great many reliable signals then. I have found as Sterling just posted that the @am period (two hours before the London open) for whatever reason has a great many of reliable signals. I have found it useful to trade the 5m, 15 and 30m simultaneously. So money management is very important. I use a very conservative MM with 1 mini per timeframe for each 20k. So its not uncommon for me to have all three going at once. I was trading the whole time period at first, and many weeks it was quite profitable. But some were very choppy and had too many losses. So now my strategy is to catch the first run, take the money and then enter no more trades until I see divergence or a failure to reach a previous high/low. I quit at 6 am EST (3am for me) because the market often slows down at that point and because I need sleep.
The divergenge as I said in my last post is a particularly good signal, but if the market is strong, can be false.
I am looking forward to seeing Sterlings Rules.

Hi allivemind

follow this process

-Right click on the chart you want to send, and select save as picture.
-from the save as picture box that comes up select active chart as is
-Click OK
-Give it name and save it in any location in your PC.

TO PUT IT ON THE THREAD
-On the reply page, scroll down, click on the manage attachment button
-On the manage attachment box, click inside any of the two upper text boxes
-Click on the browse button to the right of the text box
-another window will open to display the content of your PC
-Look for the chart picture you saved earlier and double click on it
-The full path will be on the manage attachment text box.
-Click on the upload button
-That's it

Thanks Kos, I am posting below two trades with what I call divergence. Some call this double tops/bottoms, even though the tops/bottoms are not equal. The red lines are the trades. The first one I actually took in my live account for +91 pips. I was asleep when the 2nd one occurred, but would have taken it. It did not go very far after that, but was profitable. We can talk about these, but for now I will just post.

Of course, the first is short, the second one long. Here I will post a 5 min of the long trade. The entry is a little lower, and I would have taken both. Each TF has advantages and disadvantages.

Those familiar with Sterling's rules would notice a sell trade four candles after the entry. When there is divergence, I ignore the first contrary signal unless I have a good profit (15-20 pips or more). I would however take the second short signal as my exit. I think it is a 35 pip profit after subtracting spread.
I enter 1 pip over the bar with the long tail and exit 1 pip under that high bar third from the right.
If this is to be a long ongoing discussion, which is OK, we probably should start another thread. I have been doing this on my own and profiting, it requires patience, and I probably would benefit from some feedback.

hi there alllivemind, thanks for all the sharing. If you don't mind? Can you explain more in details about do you mean in divergence? As far as I know, divergence occurs when indicators such as cci and stochs post different direction comparing with the real price movement. So I am a bit confuse in what you are saying here about divergence. Would appreciate very much for your explanations. tq.

You are correct. That is why I say "what I call divergence." Post 3097 picture has
classic divergence. Almost equal lows but the stochs didnt come anywhere close.
They were much higher. Also I love that long wick.
Post 3096 the high is lower, so it is not classic divergence.
I call it a failure to make new highs. This is a very reliable signal.
Nice rally, divergence at the new high, which I may have taken had I been awake,
then an attempt at another high, which doesnt seem to faxe the stochs at all.
I did take this one, as stated above.
There probably is a technical name for this pattern, I see it many times per week,
its one of my faves.
When I see it, I use Sterling rules for entry.
