have you altered the concept of KTM

it appears the momentum on the trades has dried up for the moment we get a setup with stochs at 40 then a couple of doji type candles suck up the stoch that when its ready to take out point 2 its in overbought conditions what do we do i cancel the order it went from being a high probabilty setup to a risky one

FWIW, my opinion, blackdog, is that ALL methods require the discretionary ability to respond to market conditions. Harold has just replied above, wisely and simply outlining his response. Ed Seykpta once said that markets always remain the same because they are always changing.

We all want to be able to set our rules, then just stick to them and become wealthy... but it isn't quite so easy (although it remains very simple). I hope I made it clear previously that I was not exactly following ktm, but I too found January very challenging , and in any event wanted to trade in both directions regardess of daily trend. I am constantly refining my trading and as I have posted in recent months, I like drawing trendlines on RSI (I have posted recently on FF about this). Not ktm so not on this thread.

Always ask yourself why the technical indicators you choose to put on your charts are helpful to you : understanding how they work can help more than you realise (and may lead you to stop using some or all of them). If you like a moving average, ask yourself what it is actually telling you and if that is really useful information or not, etc etc. Trading is simple, but you have to think outside your comfort zone, which very few are really willing to do...

Hi Guys..

Joel Here.......I've made 19 trades since jan 22, 2009.... 14 wins, 5 losses. I trade live...... real money...... I use harold's 5 min KTM method 95% of the time with 2 modifications. I only trade eur/usd and usd/jpy, and i wait for a much larger pullback (70 to 100 pips +)against the daily trend, hoping to minimize the fakeout danger. Sort of waiting for the pair to become really ripe for a move in the direction of the trend. Thats my story and i'm stickin to it..... hope that helps.. Love ya Harold ( figuratively speaking of course) Oh yes, and a couple of those wins were not KTM.. They were cases of buying or selling,
using strong support or resistance levels on the 1 hour, 4 hour and daily charts, when I got tired of waiting for a 123....
