Here are the results of my EA original settings .01 on a 3000 demo. This started Jan. 23. I am not using any SL with this account.

Funny thing about live accounts. I did not get SL on my demo but I did on my live account. I was really making a lot of money on that currency. Hmmmmmmmmmmm .................

is that nano lot i presume?

if so thats great results considering the Stop Loss drawdown if hit on any of the currencies...

if you hit for example the SL on the eurusd (1 cent = 1 pip) with account balance of $3000, SL = 500pips, 3level EA + 2 levels of recovery, it would only be a 4.26% drawdown or roughly $127...

if it was eurgbp it would be drawdown of 6.17%

if it was AUDNZD it would be 2.34%..

pretty good results considering

haha bout time i had some luck ive already had 2 SL hits with lot sizes bigger than my account could handle... probably best lesson to learn however... lesson is, less trades = less risk cos ur really entering in at extremes... also using appropriate lot sizes

White, could you share your settings, so I can compare. I can't find what I think are good settings on the GBP/USD, USD/CHF unless I go way far out like 190 pips or so from center.
I strated live trading 6 pairs I mentioned in an earlier post with the same settings as in the post at .10. 4 of them had trades and I'm up thirty bucks. Would like to have more pairs, but don't want to add pairs unless they're relatively safe. No EUR/NZD, EUR/AUD, GBP/CHF, GBP/JPY, USD/JPY because I think all of these pairs have "issues", and I stay away from people and pairs with "issues"

as a side note dont ever presume a currency will forever be binned or forever be in the basket....

for example a year ago the eurgbp would definatly be in but now its not in my 16... trick is to adapt to the market and changing characteristics/range...

llambert, I deleted all recent EAs and indicators I added, and it still wouldn't unfreeze. Irritating too because I had all kinds of stuff on that demo that I have to retrieve one by one. Oh, well. Another demo that crashed. No problem since it wasn't a live one.

yeh i havent chosen them in my 16, i havent got my notepad with me atm as im at work but ill try and pass them onto you tonight so we can have a brainstorm...

keep in mind some of the 16 currencies havent opened a trade this week ie the GBPUSD so some currencies may still be too close to the MA and some might be too far away... thats why im jsut 'testing' with live pennies atm

There's a whole thread on this pair, and I may go back to trading it again, as people are saying the spread has come back down to earth. I was doing OK with a 30X20 EA starting at 90 from center with a multiple of 1.8 and 5 maximum trades. No sooner the week I started trading it, the spreads went beserk, fluctuating from 17 to as much as 50. When I traded it, I did it non stop except closing out before Friday afternoon. If the pair has settled, it's a great one to trade. You might want to read the other thread to get familiar with it...."Trading the AUD/NZD successfully" (I think that's the name)

well the only reason it should've frozen would be an EA/Indicator or like the profiles listed here, but since you put the indicators on and that caused it I would've assumed it was that. If I was there I could fix it, but since I am not, well..

If you are having crashing problems it may be due to the amount of ram you are using. I use 1G of ram and it is just barely enough for what I do. If you have just 512 then you could have issues. I am going to update my computer to 2-4G of Ram and a dual core or more processor. This EA on a lot of currencies will use a lot of it when you start it up. If that is the issue you will need to load up MT4 one currency chart at a time. Once the thing is loaded you should be OK.

Also I use a registry optimizer almost every day to clean out all the rubbish that collects in the registry loading and downloading internet info. etc. This makes my computer run much smoother. Also check out your recycle bin and empty it often. It also will slow down your computer.

If you back test a lot the MT4 saves that info in a history file and that will really bog MT4 down. Download a fresh copy for your trading and dont backtest on it. I use to download a fresh copy of MT4 every month or two because of this. Since I believe the backtest in MT4 gives false readings I only use it to check the EA is functioning properly. To make decisions based on back tests is a fallacy. I have argued this point several times in the Holy Grail thread if you want to know why. I hope this helps with your issues.

Sometimes you will need to change the TP line. If the TP is just above a support or resistance line you will need to move it to the other side or manually close the trade. Some of you are talking about yesterdays GBP/USD trade and that is why it got so deep. It was posting the TP line on the other side of a resistance line. I closed two trade manually yesterday because of this. Here is a pic of a JPY session gbp/usd and how it just missed the TP line because it is just on the other side of a weak resistance line. Notice the pic. The white line is the resisitance line.

Does anyone have a 5 digit version of this EA? I have downloaded a company that has fractional pip pricing but I cant get my EA to work. Dont know where the problem is now.

hi Bob, i have a 5 digit broker. all i did was add a 0 to my sl, tp, etc...

i'm sure you tried that but it worked for me. wish i could be more help.

Is it possible to create an equity graph that will show account equity at different hours throughout the night (or day). Sorry to clog the thread with a general question but I googled and checked various sites and couldn't find an answer.

Yes, the attached indicator will show you the Equity of your account in graph form as well as max dradown in $, etc.

well this week has started off brilliantly. all i see is green in my account history. thanks again to Bob for being the man and sharing this wicked system.

i'm only running one EA on the eurusd. i've wanted to take things slowly to make sure i understand the system and how to implement it properly. so far so good.

i noticed in my studies that when a currency breaks an extreme threshold of support or resistance, it can often run without even a minimal retracement. my conclusion is that consistent losses are a reality of this system. being set back 3 to 5 days or more at a time is going to happen, that's just how this crazy market works. unless you're speaking another language over at the 'Optimized Trend Trading' thread lol.

my hope however is that overall on a monthly basis this system can remain profitable. i will be more than happy to share my settings when i am confident i have done enough testing as i am very grateful to be apart of this supportive community...
