Has anyone ever posted here a system that is really a winner? Has anyone ever made consistently money with the systems posted here or anywhere? If you were a guru with a winning system, would you ever bother to post and discuss it on forums like this? Come on! Think!

Most of systems here are profitables (i guess), even a classic macd system is profitable, man it's not a matter of system, a bad trader can loose everything even with the holy grail system! And a great trader can make a fortune using a moving-average system (buy at the cross), understand ?

Take a look at THV V3. I suggest reading through its entire thread. One of the best I ever tested.

There is a lot to learn there and the system is simple to use. There is also a very dedicated THV team at hand to coach newbies.

How true. A simple MA crossing system with proper time to trade, risk and money management can work too.

One of the most important factor is recognizing that there are 2 scenario that we trade in - trending and ranging. And knowing which one system works in which market trend.

Arilou, have you actually tried to master a system/set-up/approach before abandoning it because success was not instant? Many traders think that finding a 'profitable' system is all that is required, find the holy grail and then let the money roll. I put it to you that once you can trade one system/strategy, you'd probably be able to trade them all. The system isn't important, as long as you believe in it enough to follow it. I haven't stalked the Trading Systems section of this forum for a long time, but I bet a great many of them produce a good profit in the long run. Your assumption that a successful architect of a system would not be willing to share it is also untrue in my experience. Those who fear to share as it would 'dilute their edge' or the 'market would change' are paranoid, plain and simple. The greatest traders who I have encountered have all been extremely giving with with their time and expertise. But then, those people were aware that life satisfaction exists beyond just maxing out their bank account.

Yes, it is the old drill, but does it have any meaning? Most trends are born form a range, and most of them end in a range. If you stay away from ranging, you have a good chance to miss most of the trend. And when you "identify" the trend and enter it, most participants had also done so or just doing so, and the trend soon ends.

No, my assumption is not exactly taht. My assumption is that there is no such thing as a successful system architect or successful forex trader. Are you one?

Don't know but the last 4 weeks sure look like "a winning system".

And how about you? Are you a winner? Did you make consistent and significant profit on Forex during lets say the past year?

I would not have felt compelled to debate your assertion were I not. I wonder what experiences you must have had to extrapolate to that conclusion. Seems a dark road to go down, maybe without a route back. A common characteristic I have found to be prevalent amongst traders is an unshakable belief that they will make it, that any setback is just that. Sometimes to their detriment and the loss of huge sums of money, telling themselves that they may have lost the battle but they will win the war. If you have come to the conclusion that nobody can make it, then you've already lost the war. A dose of skepticism is essential in this business, but absolute cynicism will get you nowhere. Believe me, there are much easier ways to make money in this world and there are definitely no guarantees even if you put your life and soul into it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained..... but then there is absolutely no shame in walking away if it's not for you.

Ok, birdt, you are right in many respects, and I really do not want to be cinic. I am just curious. I have been reading such forums for some time, and I simply do not understand why there isn't anybody on these forums who clearly dares to claim: "I consistnently win money on Forex". Have you ever encountered such a person? I never. But why is that? If forex can really be profitable on the long run, where are the people who made it? Where is that 5%? At least one or two should be here, no?

I know that determination and faith is necessary for success. But do you think it is enough? What if the playground makes it impossible to win? Would you say someone in a casino: "Just believe, be determined, don't give up, and you will win"? I think not, because you know that in a casino chances are against you. But how do you know that forex is different? Especially if you do not know even one person who made it? Where does your faith come from?
