6% for me today running the original suggested setups but I did delete a few pairs from the mix. Looking forward to seeing how it handles this entire week uninterrupted and unmanaged.

6% using .01 penny lots or ? That's pretty good... what % would you lose should a stop hit? (assuming you don't use the recovery ea)?

Sorry, its on fxdd so they are .10cent/pip lots at .01.
Starting capital I used was 2000.00.
Am sure the loss would be pretty high if it went the full 3 levels and still hit the stop loss. So far today farthest it's gone is level 2.
Tis why I want to let it play out on it's own this week to see if any go completely against me.

well if you average 6% a day and lose 15% on one, you'd still be up, so yes please keep us posted.

im using a 20% loss to the account if a SL is hit (including using recovery EA's)

These are my findings, and of course anyone is free to do with them what they will. I have spent nearly every waking hour going through the charts of the various pairs, and with the Strategy Tester. I have disregarded October, and have tested from November 1st to today. For my risk level, 90 PIPS away is not far enough to avoid stops. There were at least three times since November 1 that stops would have hit on almost every single pair at "only" 90 pips away. My number one priority is to avoid them. I'm hearin some report returns of 6%, 5% or whatever. Hitting a stop on a pair or two will wipe those returns out, and then some. In the short term, if you trade at 90 PIPS from center, you're going to get more trades and more wins. In the long run, I think it's safer to enter at further distances to avoid stops and still have enough entries.
So far, on the pairs that I've tested, this is what I've come up with:
CHF/JPY 110 away on a 15 minute chart
AUD/USD 130 away on either a 30 minute or 0ne hour chart
AUD/JPY 120 away on a 15 minute chart
EUR/CHF 130 away on a 30 minute chart
USD/CAD 150 away on a 30 minute chart
EUR/USD 150 away on a 15 minute chart

I will be adding two pairs to this list for my own trading for a total of 8 safe pairs. I understand that Strategy Tester isn't 100% accurate, but I think it's fairly close. I also understand the test period is short. This post is merely for the consideration and checking of others who may be thinking of going live. What I'm looking to do is slowly win "nickles and dimes" and make the safest trades possible to avoid stops. That's not to say you wouldn't get stopped with these settings. These are just the best settings I found to maximize the return while at the same time avoiding the dreaded stop.

All settings are three level. I tested the 4 level. While it does work on ocassion, there's just too much money at risk in using it for my taste. On live trading, I'll make a decision if needed when the time comes whether of not to use a recovery EA. With the above settings, there were no stop outs.

ill post my setting tonight when i get home, but mine are very similar, only max 10pips off and same TF's...

it looks good to me though... if each currency makes 2 trades a week or even 1 we are laughing

Thanks for the hard work paradoxical and whitegoodman.
I will definitely bookmark that post with the pair/tf/and spacing settings for future use.
It's that kind of testing to obtain safe yet still profitable settings that are greatly appreciated!

This is mine on the eurusd, only 2nd level hit so far, nothing to be scared about yet here.
Doesn't mean it wont go down and blow thru level 3 and stop me, but not a concern as of yet

First, i like Bobs system...
but
i m trading since long time martingalelike trading systems and i can tell you : not to consider the worst case in backtests ,as it happened in Oct 08, is a fatal mistake.
Only when a setting survived a worst case szenario in the past there will be a tiny chance to survive in the future..
To speak about 8 "safe pairs" is realy missleading for unexperienced traders
just my 2 cents

yeah i was wondering about that myself. i just checked and i had the levels set to 40 pips when they should have been set to 60. although now that i've changed them my chart is off even more lol.

any ideas of what i'm doing wrong? thanks

this is true past performance does not indicate the future...

however we can guestimate reasonably using our eye for the charts and bobs 7 year fact sheet... speaking of which when i try and do a download to excel for daily figures it doesnt provide column headings so i dont know what they mean... could someone explain to me what numbers are which, cos i wouldnt mind trying to update it tonight (its midday ish here atm)

have u checked in the code that ur first entrance away from the MA is correct?

thanks for the reply. i have a 5 digit broker so this is what the code looks like:

extern int Pips= 600; // Distance in Pips from one order to another

so from what i understand when price first moves 60 pips (or 600 pipettes) away from the 80 period LWMA it will initiate an order. if my thinking is correct it's odd that at least the first level doesn't match up

maybe i'm just confused about something...
