Anyone know what this error message is trying to tell me?

Don't see any empty settings in the EA.
Starting to see instead of just looking.

I liked the steam fish but for this they serve goat and lamb mostly, I had fresh rice picked from their fields which tastes a lot better than the store stuff. Actually we have 3 more days to go. This was the dedication of the babies to the ancestors. It was interesting to watch. The whole village gets together and celebrates the birth of all the new born baby boys. They started at 10 am in the morning and went until ............., well I fell asleep at midnight.

Hi,

I don't understand why the EA traded as it did on USDCHF from wednesday to thursday. At 14.26 (GMT) on wed it opened a sell (0.01 lot), because price was on the first green level. Price retraced to the median. Then at 18.41 it opened a level 2 sell (0.03 lots), even though price did not touch either the first level or the second one. Why did the EA do this? Is it because the levels are calculated when the sell was opened? I attached a chart of the movement.

If you have read the manual that Bob prepared so clearly, you can find the answer to your question. This is what Bob wrote in Page 3....

"·So starting at 90 pips from your median it will enter a sell above the median line or a buy below the median line. At this point the reenters are static from that first line even though the lines will move with time. "

I would suggest you read the manual again and you will grasp the method clearly.

I found the Asian session working much better on this ea than the US. I would make steady profit overnight only to lose much of it the next day. I like to close the board every day and restart, as Bob does. So would anyone like to comment on their experience this week with how their ea worked during different sessions?

I also think the more currencies trading the better with less fluctuation and more opportunities. So I'm lowering lot sizes this weekend instead of trying to handpick fewer pairs.

Also, why the 500 pip stoploss? Wasn't the 100x80 ea partly based on the theory a currency almost never travels beyond 800 pips? I could have retraced the gbp/jpy yesterday but it stopped out at 500 and then retraced right back and I could have minimized my losses.

Well you have to put the SL somewhere. From top to bottom that is 1180 pips or 590 above or below 1st entrance. The gbp/jpy is one of the few currencies that actually can do that. I am beginning to think of only going 3 levels and 400 SL and dropping all the GBP except the gbp/usd. Much smaller losses. I found that out today when I closed my GBP/CHF trades. If I had been 3 levels instead of 4 I would have had a profit for the week. The toughest part of this business is the getout trade. Every trade I have closed out early has turned around but I have had 4 times in 2008 my account cleaned out or badly damaged because I wouldnt exit a trade. I went ahead and saved both of my accounts tonight but I ended with very small losses for the week on my live accounts. Both less than 10 dollars. I see now that I could have taken a 100 pip less loss but then again I could have increased a 100 at news time. That is just the way the cookie crumbles. I wish it had been different. I am glad I did not keep my account at .05 on a thousand or I really would have been sweating it. At .02 yup it was a hit but it was 168 bucks. I include the eur/gbp which also retraced after I closed it out. So my losses could have been smaller if I stuck in there or they could have .................... The last two Fridays have not been nice to me.

Here is a chart of my live trades for the week. I tried to hang in there on the GBP/CHF but the drop is from 3 losing trades not just one. So I will look at the winners and losers and focus on which currencies I want to trade.

Here is my ITFX demo which I closed out today before the EUR open. You can see with the tighter spreads of the demo it closed out the trouble trades but with the wider spreads on live, some trades got into trouble. ON a demo they do not. One of the main reasons back tests and demo tests are not valid and why I keep trading pennies with IBFX. If I can make it work with IBFX spreading the spread then it will work on anything.

One of the conclusions I am coming up with is the currencies whose spreads go over 40 or 50 pips spread are eventually going to cause trouble with my system. I am going to eliminate some of these pairs and see how well it does with just doing medium and slow pairs. These are my observations so far.

Thanks for your answer. I have already read the manual and understood it when I read it, but I did not really grasp that bit when the trade was in action, since the time elapsed from the opening was as long as 2 days, so the trade seemed strange.

this ea is sort of like the other ea by bob. you have to know when to quit. im getting better at it. below is the graph from tuesday to thursday. pretty dang good. the drop on the right is when i closed all trades because i was happy with the profit for the week. 458 pips trading dimes with all pairs with default settings

Here is my second live account. This one took several hits twice from the eur/gbp, gbp/chf and the closing before the news tonight. It still made over 35 bucks or 3.5% for the week. Stinking gbp/chf, if it wasnt for the NFP I would have hung in there longer but I didnt want to the chance. I made the decision after last weekends stupid decision that I wouldnt make the same decision again.

My accounts are still up 300 dollars for 3 weeks so thats an average of 100 a week however this was my first bad week. This was also the first week I tried trading this on two accounts so breakeven so far.

That is what I should have done after the JPY session today. My profit would have been bigger for the week. Close and be happy.

Start at .01 until you know and get used to the EA also the only gbp I would trade right now is the GBP/USD. Trading more than one just seems too difficult to recover from. The TF are already recommended in the profiles. I have set that part up for you already.
