I'm up 7% in a day and a half trading $1000 with 17 pairs at .05 so according to Bob, I'm probably pushing things to the limit. Still haven't seen a level 3 and biggest drawdown has been about $30. Lowest margin level was down around 4000%. Would probably start at .01 or .02 lots with real money.

It is a set and forget system if you dont overmargin yourself. For example I have a 1000 dollar account. If the gbp/usd goes against me 500 pips my loss is about 50 bucks on .01 trade, 100 on .02 trades. The chances of it going 590 points above its median is well, ........... it happened one time last Oct. and that was during a news story I would now no longer try to trade. I was a big dummy back then. The one big news story I have warned people about that can happen at any time is if Chrysler or GM file bankruptcy. That would make the markets go crazy and its shut down and hide time. If you find some trades going with the trend put a protective stop loss and trailing stop on it and close everything else down.

Also I live and work here in China so I go to bed about half way through USA session and then wake up a couple of hours before the JPY session. So I sleep during the afternoon session. I am at work during the jpy and most of the Euro and home to catch the morning USA session. The reason I developed these EAs was so I could trade and not worry about it. My top yellow lines are 360 pips away from the median or a 720 pip range. Then if things go that bad I have invented a recovery EA to help with disaster trades. If I hear someones dropped a nuclear bomb somewhere in the world I can get home in less than 30 minutes closing every trade I got.

Actually I was dealing with my stupid over the weekend trades and thats what caused me my big DD. I have not had any since, however, in the old days, pre-october craziness, the days before the NFP would normally be quiet so you are safe until Friday.

Well the Eur/nzd pushed the EA to its limits today with a 752 pip move from top to bottom, if the move is done the EA handled it. If it continues I get to try my recovery EA and save a really good day. I hope this is it and it retraces. My live account has made 54 dollars today and i have it set on .02, yeah thats 2 cents. Imagine if I had a big account and I could do dollar trades. I shudder to think about it. If I bailed on the trade right now it would only be a 22 dollar loss and still have a winning day. If it goes up and retraces, man, this is wild. I both love and hate that currency, I wish it was just a tad tamer but handling 700 pip moves was my dream in the 100x80 but the DD was too big. My DD right now on a 700 + pip move has only been 35 bucks. I dont think I can get it any better than that. Here is the trade with the recovery EA just turned on.

Also notice if I did take the loss out here around 22 dollars it would make profit for me as it headed back to the median whenever that would be. So the actual loss would be lessened. What I really like about this is that losses can be cut down to size fairly quickly. Hanging onto trades too long and hoping they come back when It might be better just to swallow the smaller loss and come back later.

Hello NanningBob,
i'm trading your EAs now live for several weeks. and demoing it with 12 pairs at ibfx demo. so every 0.01 lot is a dime. my life account is a penny account so i never reach a profit like yours today. do you use a dime account? now i have an 4000$ account and ask myself how many pairs i should use at the same time and how big should i set the lotsize. with 12 pairs and 0.01 lots i would only earn 4,2$ for today. maybe it is better to set at 0.1 lot.

Nice work here. What's the best way to determine which TF to use for a particular pair? I thought I read it somewhere but can't find it now. Thanks

BenQ, in the zip file on page 1, there is a WORD document with recommendations on what time frame to use for what pairs.

I thought that was where I saw it, but I'll look again.

Is this pic normal? It entered a long trade at the recent bar, but the tp is all the way up passed the upper yellow line. I thought it would end up with tp closer to median white line. TP in terminal is 60 pips.

Ben, the TP should be 60 PIPS away from your entry. Can't imagine why you would have a TP further away than that.

The TP is 60 pips away from my entry, but why is that on the other side of the upper yellow line? I'm missing something here and can't figure it out yet. The lines in that pic aren't 90 pips apart either -- I thought they were supposed to be. I'm on 5 digit broker. I changed the settings in the EA, but something still seems not right.

It's looking like the levels in the MAs need to also be adjusted for 5 digit brokers, is that right? I know the EAs need adjustment, but never ran into a situation where an MA did too.

Edit: Added the extra zero to MA levels and now they are 90 pips apart. On the EAs, besides TP, pips and SL what else needs to be adjusted for 5 digit brokers? Because mine is entering too close to white line. If anyone trading 5 digit can post a set file I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Ben, I'm looking at the chart you posted, and the white center line is 49005. The TOP line is 49365, which is 360 pips away. The furthest bottom line is 48645, which is also 360 pips away from the center white line. Everything looks OK to me with your chart. The other lines are 90 pips away from each, also.

No, disregard the last digit. 49365 from 49005 is only 36 on 5 digit. Thanks for looking at it. Still having problem with EA though.

Just figured I'd join in with the testing report.
I started my demo with the 3 level system on fxdd 16 hours ago. Opened demo with $5000, and am trading almost every pair on fxdd at .01 (10 cent pip).
As of this minute, $91.11 in closed profit (about 1.8%) with -$14 in open trades.
Looking forward to seeing how this thing can perform as time goes on.

at .10 for 3 levels, the cost for one pair being stopped out at the 500 PIP default amount is $1,283.00 on a pair that has a PIP value of a dollar. With lots of pairs, I think there's a possibility of two or more going deep at the same time in a heavily trending market. I'm not sure if it's best to trade 10 or more pairs at a lower amount, or maybe just 5 or so at a higher amount. The risk is spread with more pairs, but could be a possibility of a major problem in a big trend hitting three or four pairs at the same time.

Dont know what you have there but the EUR/CHF should look like this. Also got my retrace on the eur/nzd

If you trades dimes you should use the 3 level unless you have a lot of cash there.
3 levels is this:

Yeah, I did figure that I might be spreading things a bit thin, but figured I'd start from here and go over the results as best I can to start eliminating pairs either due to poor performance, or just not having enough capital to support them etc. I just counted and I am running 18 pairs in total.

to the answer regarding 5 digit brokers....

you have to change the indicator lines in mt4 by adding a '0' to every one... ( i think you leave MA as 80 however)

TP should be 600

I think the problem is that you have to change the mt4 code in metaeditor...

right at the bottom it has the variance away from the 80MA, you will probs have to make both 900 instead of 90..
