Just a joke. Actually I love the british politeness (as well as japanese mentality). Besides many great examples of politeness, I was overwhelmed by the fact that british bus drivers wait for elder people to sit down before moving off. So you're right with your prejudice, FORX, you wouldn't see this in germany. There are a lot of things germans could learn from the british and japanese.
