Well well well I thought it was just me. Im using 5digit platform on vista but obviously none of that is the problem cus iopoipoi is using entirely the opposite
I will join to ask any one version to post it

Well it seems that the best working version is to be found in post 340,

It is the most eager of the EAs to enter into trades but is very susceptible to a whipsawing market and losses, so best to trade it only at strong trending times, and of course many thanks to RR for carrying out the coding.

Evening all,

Just to let you know that RR's ea from post 354 is running for me now with the Use Whipsaw Protection Set to TRUE.

I am comparing this version of the EA (post 354) to the EA from post 340 and it is currently avoiding some of the whipsaws at this time in the market whereas the earlier EA (post 340) is loosing due to the whipsaws....

Evening all,

Well I'm no expert on EAs and their logic, but I have been monitoring the actions of the latest EA this evening and it can be bold.

Pict attached of the EURUSD chart on the left. The EA opened a sell order but has managed not to close the order after the change of the slope line from red to blue.... Somehow it has managed to skip the code to exit the trade on change of slope signal (and yes, close on opposite signal was set to true).

Well I think I see the answer to my last post - the trading time setting had just closed so the EA wasn't operational even though it had entered a trade. Lesson learned.

What are you using as a filter on the newest version of the EA for the Whipsaw setting?
I'm interested to know as I am comparing both when this filter is on and off.
Hopefully this new EA takes care of my past problems, only time will tell.

Hi I saw you use this EA on a 1M TF chart and not 5TF as the original post.
My curiosity, have you change any parameter? Thx a lot

I find quite strange that many threads here are not related to trading, strictly I mean.

How is going this system generally?
It is profitable?
Which settings works best?
How is your account after some tests?


I know we are having some troubles to make it works,
but PTournis, for instance, are you still testing this system?
results?

there are some weeks we are here now

we can find some conclusion


I am still trying to make it work, and can't tell if is profitable or not

Just had a programming querie...been through the thread in the last couple of hours, got it all working well.
Had a short trade close on the "close of an opposite signal" (slope dir. line) when the Psar was still signalling the sell.

Would it be a silly thought to have the option to have the trade close on one indicator, or the other (as it seems to be atm), OR BOTH.
...As the short continued another 50 pips with the slope dir line changing direction to red again...

Maybe i've missed something....

I have been overall profitable in the time frames I wrote about. I am working on the EA right now.

still having issues with unexplainable closes. I'm testing the EA in many different ways to find the best exit strategy. I would still like to know what criteria your are using for the whipsaw filter is and I also noticed that the EA does not trade if the whipsaw setting is false? has anyone seen any trades while this setting was off?

Hi, I have been following the thread and testing the ea for several days.
I'm having the same problems.
The EA, no matter which version closes trades without any reason - at least I can't see that reason
When the signals are same the EA shows
Remaining Trades: 1
Trade Trigger: None
- same when a trade is open.

Maybe it's a broker-problem. What broker are you using Rbi?
I'm testing it on Alpari UK and US. Problem exists with both.

Also I have the same problem with the whipsaw function, though this is not too important, the EA won't trade when whipsaw function is set to false.
It makes no difference if I set stoploss to 0 or turn it off.
I've tried all different kinds of settings, but it'll keep on doing this stuff.

I'm Using Forexmeta... I don't believe that this is a broker issue.

The problem isn't just with the certain closes, there are postions that are opened contrary to the slopeline... I am excited about this as the exit is really all it needs (given that the bugs get fixed).

I hope that RR returns to aid with these issues

I couldn,t agree more, there is no differentiation between those just starting out and those that have learnt from others here at the factory.

I can see this thread is starting to open up some solid ideas and help those that can think for themselves....

The only logic for the EA is that we can try and use past results to gain some prediction about future performance, other than this I can find no other use for EA's
When the inevitable draw downs occur, the EA then can then be blamed for the loss, instead of the trader. Unless you can stomach the drawdowns on your capital then you had better read up on some strategies to "nurse" you through these times as drawdowns will surely occur and can be quite savage.

Drawdowns, occur and can test even the most hardened trader. No one is immune to the drawdown of capital, that is what you need to learn, and then be able to place enough faith in your system to carry on through those times...

so what are you trying to tell us? If we trade the system manually, we still rely on the predictions of the indicators, which again base their decision/indication on past results.
