Hi all,
I have done about 10 15 trades with this method and it really produces good pips the first 5 mins. Its always true. When i make my orders i am always 50-100 pips up in the first five mins. But then stuff goes bad and i am going on the negative side. So i just keep my orders till i hit 50 pips. Question is did you come with any exit rules yet. i found something interesting a balance indicator combined with ccfp but i am working on it. So how much should i keep my trades or any more clear exit rules. As you all know exits are somewhat more important then entry...they are the tricky part of every strategy... ? Thanks!

And you need a better exit strategy ??? If your setup gives you always 50-100pips in the first 5mins, exit within the 1st 5mins ...

when it was always till today when in the first 10 mins it was -200 and then i decided to try it out and let go it reached -600 before going down for a profit of 180. Thats what i mean if someone who has done more observation on this method has any better ideas. Maybe sl and tp based on % of acc equity ??

Here are two indicators I found that show relative strength in a different way.
Version 2 has more pairs checked.
They can both be placed on the same chart.
Version 3 can be placed in any corner while version 2 is in lower right corner.
If using both put version 3 in a different corner.
Note that the strength might not be the same in both versions because of additional pairs checked.

I have been testing out a simple syatem almost exclusively looking at price action with fairely good results.This is how it is done:

1.Open any chart with 4 hr bar
2.add CCfp Indicator.
3. look for differences of each currency on the data menu of the LAST TWO 4hr bar.
4 Open the postion 5-10 minutes after the new bar has opened

The account has grown pretty good with alsmost no loss so far in the last one month.

This is so simple it must be easy to create an EA or indicator for this system.
I will soon put up the chart and indicator here.

Hey Kris or Anyone, do you have any technical information on this CCFp indicator?
I would like to find out why it bases its ma currency calculations only on USD?
Looking at the code, the ma is calculated by comparing lets say CHF with USD or JPY with USD, etc. Not sure why only USD.

after and as results of my hard works on this great indicator, i think we can find another trading system with this indicator.

first, lets forget differences in two candles in 4H timeframe because every body can find bad signals on that.

i think if we filter unwanted currencies on this indicator and clean up the screen we can find some amazing results.
for example if you are on EURUSD, you can filter other 6 currencies and see just two lines. something like this :

you can easily see when Blue line (EUR) rises over Green line (USD) the price will rise up and otherwise.

But this system has not 100% correct signals. because sometimes two lines are mixing in each other and price will not move as far as our goal and trend will fall back again. see this :

as you can see on red signs EUR and USD lines faces each other but they dont cross and prices will not move so much.


so i will ask you for help here. how we can filter this bad signals ?

in this last week i have tried out over hundred indicators and didnt find any answer for my question. maybe you know how !

i will put my eyes on this topic for your help.

Very interesting. If you didn't find the right indicator, maybe look at price action. tommyd above mentioned an article on the subject. In that article, there is a link to another one presenting fractals, fractal lines and how to use them. Here are a few suggestions:

- when CFP lines crosses, wait for a first fractal to appear in your direction (see red arrows) and then set a buy stop or sell stop order according to the trend.

- you can also connect fractals (fractal line). When price breaks the fractal line, it should be close to the peaks (dotted blue lines) of the CFP lines. From there, you could wait for a fractal to enter a trade.

It,s only my suggestions. I will keep an eye on this one too. It looks very promising.

Hello to all the members of this and other forums.
For almost two weeks I am trying to test performance of this EA. Extern call of CCFP indicator takes to much resources of the computer and there is no way to test EA in small time frames (1min or 5min) with 10 and more pairs.
Is there any EA which has CCFP in it, without using iCustom instruction.

Wow. I have spent the last few days going over this thread from start to finish. A lot of repatition but so many fantastic postings. I am amazed at the generosity of all the members. The inicators are superb though I still don't seem to get any trades on the EA even after attaching to around 30 charts!

Now for my pennyworth.

1. The original concept is based on the derivative of relstive strrength of currencies over the last two H4 bars and then entry 15 mins into the new bar. The thing is that these H4 bars differ from one broker to another because of their specific offsets. Therefore, either there is a specific offset that is optimal or the H4 bars are entirely arbitrary so any rolling four hour period would be fine. If someone could adapt the indicator to do this we could avoid hanging around for the end of the bar (+15 mins).

2. Trading times are important though I am not sure whether it is better to avoid the high risk hours when news items can blow any trend to bits (i.e Asian hours for EUR/USD type pairings) or whether the gains from high volatility during trading hours are more beneficial to this system. ANy ideas or am I talking a load of bollocks?

3. The 15 min delay I assume is a fairly crude way of getting into the trade after a puklback from the up or downswing at the end of the previous candle? Though a bit more labour intensive my feelings is that the actula entry would be more accurate if homing in on pivots, candles etc. once the pair and direction has been established.

4. Using the derivative is like the slope of a hill you are climbing. The ache in your legs tells you you are going up but not whether you are nearing the top of the hill. One thought is that if we alter the CCf indicator to look at the slope of the relative strength rather than the relative strength itself, firstly, we could have a far more dynamic way of using this system (as per my first point) and, secondly, if we look at the second derivative i.e. the slope of the slope, we would get an idea of whether it is flattening off and may be nearing the peak.
