I hate trading these news, never know the mind games these insto guys play

although the 137.7 target malcolm suggested seemed fair

scalped 45 pips long off that news spike, didn't dare reverse to shorts when it fell - too noobie still
was sure that we head up from here..i posted the chart which showed collecting.
now just waiting to reshort at higher levels
i tot this pair is supposed to be down with out come of the rate cut?
any idea whats happining guys?

Looking at the Sterling price action following the BoE 100 bps rate cut it would appear that a large slice of the market was looking for a greater reduction. Cable bounced to 1.4680 from 1.4600 and dragged EUR/USD to 1.2656 before pullbacks set in.
The EUR has its own rate decision to negotiate at 12:45 GMT. With the Riksbank exceeding expectations and the BoE possibly under cutting the consensus the ECB call is a little harder to make. A move of 50 to 75 bps favoured with the possibility of a drop in rates to a round 2.5% the consensus. EUR/USD is looking like 1.2550-1.2650 with offers to 1.2700 likely to keep stronger rebounds in check.

The euro has been falling on speculation of a 50 basis points reduction in its interest rate when the policy makers meet today at 7:45 am ET. Some analysts expect a bigger reduction of 75 basis points which would bring the rate to 2.50%. Thursday's rate reduction will be the third eurozone interest rate cut in less than two months. On November 06, the ECB slashed the interest Rte by 50 basis points to 3.25%.

The prospect of falling borrowing costs in the eurozone weighed on the 15-nation currency because lower interest rates makes it a less attractive investment. Swiftly falling inflation rates and the economic recession justify a wider rate cut. The only lingering question is by how much the euro-zone will reduce the rates.

The economic numbers released from the euro-zone during this week pointed towards a hefty rate cut. A sharp decline in the Euro zone service sector activity cemented expectation that the ECB will cut rates. The Euro zone service sector activity index, compiled by data and research group Markit, fell to 42.5 points in November from 45.8 points in October, exceeding a first estimate of 43.3 points. Markit said that the slump, marking the sixth consecutive month of decline, brought the index to the lowest level in the survey's 10-and-a-half-year history.

Producer prices fell at their fastest rate on record in October. Producer price inflation eased to 6.3% on a year-on-year basis in October from 7.9% recorded in September. Meanwhile, Eurozone retail sales fell 0.8% month-on-month in October, after remaining unchanged in September. Initially, a 0.2% decline was reported for September. Economists were looking for a 0.4% decrease for October.

Thursday, the British pound tumbled to a record low of 0.8678 against the euro, surpassing its previous record level of 0.8665 hit on November 13. The euro-pound pair closed Wednesday's deals at 0.8605.

But carefully about rate decision, week is not over yet, there might be a bullish breakout (not in the charts yet) if rate is like expected, or a large bearish drop if there is a bigger cut, then expexted.
