I guess I was teasing you. I know the truth is you like to test things well and be sure of what you are doing. When we get a good EA we can optimize the ema. Who knows, maybe a 8 or 9 is best...

last short been opened like revers for long from friday?
in my situation I opened short like basic and it may be different for stoploss and location for long

that is the point, in my experience as a trader I noticed that every system becomes a loser (or it turns loser for sometime)

so the best systems (and this is one of the best around) are those which can be "re-optimized" easily. So the simpler the better, because you "run" the optimization sometime (maybe every 6 months?) and they start working good again.

there are 5000 system that are great in backtest but just 1 on 100 is good for forward testing and it's all due to its simplicity and market adaptation in a word: easy and fast re-optimization

This system seems clean and smooth enough to be a good one. Can't wait to backtest properly the EA *_*

Like we talked about on the EA thread, your chart is not like the default chart both threads are using, which are Alpari;

So first you should make a reference to that when posting, so that someone who's using the same as you can answer it.

Orelse you'll have us (default Alpari) always answering you are wrong

I have a question, I didn't understand exactly how you got rid of the GMT IBFx vs the Alpari UK/US H4 issue.

does it make a big difference in the outcome?

this chart is Alpari US
but after any minutes thinking , I get why I have different sitiation on chart , when current bar broke last low , in orders short stoploss back to original and place of revers too

(I must have seen something wrong in the EA thread, when comparing your posted chart with my own (your bars against my candles) - at some moment, it seemed that way)

But I maintain what I said for those who have different charts from Alpari... please make a reference to that fact, when posting levels

What issue exactly? You mean the closing time of the bars?

Well, this thread has Alpari as default (because the thread's starter uses it, and the majority of us too), but anyone using another closing time also applies the rules to their chart;
In fact, there were trading periods where one perfomed better, and then other where they reversed performance - the general idea is, in the long term, their results should balance themselves.

The last bar on Friday was a setup bar to go short. So when the market went below that it triggered are sell stop order. Does that answer it or am I not answering your question?

The backtesting thing is true with most systems but I have a tendency to disagree when it comes to this one. This is 100% completely mechanical, so any backtest that is done slowly and just as important throughly can be 100% accurate. Now that dosent guarantee future sucess by any means but if it has been working great for the past 2 years I really dont think its going to stop working tomorrow. The market dosent just change over night.

As Ive said before I got my start in news trading and it worked great for about a year or two from the date I got into it. But over the course of the last year it has slowly been failing. The same will be true for this system, it will slowly start to make less profits and we will start to optimize, but the main base of the system will never need to be changed. Support and resistance will always work in any market.

Just thought id say one hell of a trade we got goin on, almost 300 pips floating right now. Hopefully the system lock in most of that or more.

Alpari UK & US have the same closing time (when one bar closes in UK charts, it closes in the US charts, too) - so we consider it the same charts.

If a bar closes on UK at 8am (server time), it closes at 3am on US - only because of timezones. But they are the same bars.

One more thing before I go, and this probably wont be the last time I say this. Everytime I get on here I see as many if not more "guests" as I do members viewing the thread. Why dont you just join. The people in this thread are the ones that keep me doing what I do. They motivate me to make this system better and never settle for what I have. If you like the system join and let me know! That is exactly what I said, the system core is good and will never change. But EMAs (support/resistance) and "+5" are both parameters that over the time will need some change to keep the system profitable.
That's why it is important to have an EA that will optimize them for us when we need it.

Your answer always more helpful and full and precision.
My pro make what I said before - move stoploss on basic level on high from setup bar for short .
If I correctly understood from discusion the stoploss don't be move back , just stay on high from bar A , which been setup bar for long?
And now whats with long buystop ?
Current bar broke low , and in this case we don't have buystop or we have revers buystop (I hope You understand what I mean revers ) with price low from bar A

'Morning,

Just woke up and found the biatch going down in flames! Hope you guys caught some of the action. I am treating this newly very long buy bar is my first setup bar for the day and I entered a pending buy at 1.5349 with SL 1.5001. How many pips did you guys lock from the previous short?
