Shrug. Why not do both? I mean really... trade a small live account and test out new ideas across lots of demo accounts?
The more experience you get, the better you'll be. Yea you can't get the full impact of a live account trading demo, that's for sure, but you also don't throw money down a rat-hole either.
Trade demo till you're either profitable, or until you start trading sloppy because it's a demo. Then go live.
