I must admit that you and Dr Geppy are excellent at this but I'm afraid not everybody (including myself) has access to a reliable platform like esignal for this ...

As you know MT4 platforms show only broker's vol which is not so reliable. I've checked many brokers. They have very different vol associated to bars.

Do you know a free of charge package which shows true volume?

here is chart showing top in GJ . i was short 146 bailed out for 10 pips ..... yeah baby ...lol

thge first bar is up bar on low volume = no demand bar

the 2nd was upthrust ... higher volume bar closing on lows . but testing highs at top of bar

once you see this combo it is game over.....

I doubt very much that anyone gets a reliable reading of volume with currency trading simply because the system is detached. The MT4 volume is based on the number of ticks per second and is not a real reading. I once thought it was until it was explained to me.

You might get volume for indicies and commodities but do not rely on currency volume. Accurate readings do not exist.

try fib retracements ... I find they work a little better

the 50 sma 1 hr is fairly close to 50 % fib retrace @ 143.50....

that is a possible reversal zone of down moves , even if only a bounce for 50 to 100 pips

i thought that was broker volume = not reliable..??

tick volume works well .

esignal is GTIS feed ... 300 something sources.

tradeguider is a fancy software that uses the tick volume for VSA . Hawkeyetraders also uses it

it works well . i have been using tradeguider along with other systems and manging to get better entries on trades and know when to stay out of the market

Dr Geppy is really good at this stuff. If you see him on the thread pick his brains.

Yes, I've traded in my crystal ball and tend to trade on action these days so the ninja skills come in use. Problem is finding the time as work is busy these days. Looks like I may be able to take up trading full time next year... but we'll see.

Thanks Karmo.... I got in short with you at 146.20, and just closed half for a nice profit.... Where do you see this beast going to? Someone mentioned 142.50 earlier. What's your thoughts?

Man .. I seem to get addicted to trading. Sitting in front of screen for a long time each day up... down ... up .. down... close it ... fast ... no wait ... think about it... draw trend line ... no it's not the right time ... don't close it ... add to the position ... TL is broken ...be careful ... It is due to NFP, ISM, bank rate ... watch out ... baldy speaks ... oil is dropping ... gold is rising ... where is dow ... that Co. is going to go bankrupt tomorrow ... SELL ... this is the end of trend .... %61.8 completed ... this is the bottom ... no ... top. .. price is over Gann ... QQE crossed ... karmo says long ... lilmoe says short ... malcom says thin volume, back up we go ..... orion's galaxy is exploding ...



I don't know ... is this really a life we have? with all of these I'm enjoing this things ... I wish I had a small garden and plant fruits there ... I think I'm gonna do it someday.

OK, but I have my doubts. I used to pay attention to it and I understand the importance of it but I was convinced by someone in the industry for 27 year not to rely on it. The real volume exists in the interbank system and I am informed that the banks will never release that type of information.

As for tick based or any other currency volume, you can see it by the movement and action in the charts. Each to their own.

i took it based on the possibility of a fake breakout. i thought price would rush upwards, but it didn't, oh well...

loooool, take it easy big guy, this is all temporary (5-10 years) until we get a good share of money to start something nice and quiet, while still trading longer term
