I've been thinking about this post for a while : I wonder if your stop was a hard stop, ie. already in the market ? I am at 12 & 1 for November and my single loser was also stopped to the pip; not only that it was at a 48 number, ie, if I had left my stop above the 50, it would have been profitable. So I am making sure my stops are above round numbers (if they're close by), even if it makes them a little larger.

So making progress, although in trying to extend my trade profits, I am actually maknig smaller profit than your 1R approach (note to self : try it Harold's way next month...) .

I'm trading the London session - I get back from the school run just before 0900CET (0800 in London)... sometimes I just miss the first good setup, but usually the morning will yield at least one. I'm trying to leave the afternoons for admin, R&D and getting away from the computer screen (cycle, yoga, siesta, garden...).

An "ideal score" at H4X's 1R target would have yielded 11R, but this month I'm at 6.5R, although without checking there were definitely one or two more losers if I'd held to the full stop, rather than grabbed a few pips profit before retracing to zero or worse. (Edit : I mean that the "ideal score" of my trades would probably have been more like 9R)

In additon to Harolds 3 pairs, I am trading the DAX futures - only problem here is that both my brokers, like many serious brokers, have scrapped intraday margin levels during the present market turmoil, so I am only trading 2 x DAX contracts (at an eye-popping $22k margin per contract ). Nevertheless it's a great market for the CET morning and often moves when the currencies are not setting up.

The high win rate has allowed me to aggressively increase my position size (inspired by Jacko), but the glaring weakness is not maximising my trades : I have a very clear intent to reach a minimum 1R average winning trade.

Lastly, I'm trading EC futures "Vantage-style" (although not nearly as well as him), not included in the 6.5R above, to keep me focussed on the screen whilst waiting patiently for KTM-style (as they are almost, but not exactly KTM) setups. I think it was Sun Tsu who said :

hey patrick nice trade i see you used interbank i use odl and there was no setup different brokers different feeds different candles sizes if we all want to get same signals please download demo of odl its just a suggestion but otherwise good eye patrick and jtrade glad your progressing in making money when we use the term disipline it is a word that can have a lot of meanings to alot of people. personally being a disciple of christ (disiple from the root word disipline means a student and follower of. the question for both is who and what are you a student of and following after? concerning trading its the RULES concerning the other ITS CHRIST

Thanks for the update. I was very involved in the thread when Harold was trading the 15min charts but haven't really revisited it since he changed over to the 5 min charts. I know that Harold typically trades during the Asain session and being from Australia I am usually at work during that time. I did get to spend some time with Harold in the trading room one day reviewing what he's doing now and I must say his winning % is very good. I have been looking for the KTM set ups the past few days in the Euro session but I can't say that I've found many or any for that matter when I'm at the computer. The swings and candles have been just to big to stay within Harold's rules. When I saw your post I just thought maybe you were trading the Euro session and wanted to verify that. Looks like you're doing alright with the KTM set ups. Keep up the good work.
