Gamblers 5 and 15 minute trading system

Isn't there anyone who is interested in making an EA for this system?

This is my trade based on the Gambler's system. Trade on EU M15.. Earn 35pips x 10mini lots. Enough for today.

Hi Gambler180, and thank you for sharing your system. I had some fun yesterday by using it on the 5 mins chart (EUR/USD) with the EA rules, but I actually don't understand the entry rules posted here. Because in this thread you said:

"Buy when a candle close above the last down bar in a downtrend"

and in the EA thread you said:

"If a bar close above the lowest recorded opening price for a down bar (in the last 5 bars) the EA should buy.

So I think here we have two different approaches, what do you use? If you use the first one, how do you define a downtrend (or uptrend)? Maybe a downtrend could be 3 consecutive down bars?

The EA needs some filter otherwise there will be to many false entries.
So he takes the last 5 bars.

I would suggest paying attention to the doji on a 5 min chart. When a doji closes, add 4 pips either direction for long or short for entry. The timing can be weak and beware of head fakes so mm is important. But there is a behavior pattern that can be followed. Check the 5min dojis for GBP/USD, USD/JPY, and EUR/JPY. Dojis by definition means a change is coming.

After paper trading this strat, tell me you can't get at least 5 pips a trade. And if you can use a scaling out strat, some good pips can be had.

I have followed this thread since the beginning & have traded using Gambler's rules with great results trading the E/$, GBP/JPY & $/JPY. Using the jtpld approach with 5 & 8 MA's along with T3 is producing stelar results.

I'm not much of a fan of EA's, but would like to have an indicator that would plot the bars. It seemed some tried an indicator, but never got it completed, or did I miss it along the way. If there is an indicator one has developed to plot these bars, I would be most interested in using it.

Gambler, thanks for sharing the most simple system. I am currently using your simple system along with a short - medium term trending following method that I have used for sometime. Your system is the most appealing to me & is used daily. Thanks again.

I have just noticed this thread. I have been trading this system for quite a while, except I use the 3sma / 15sma cross. I only trade the London and NY sessions. Last Friday I was talking to a trader in England who back tested this system over the week. It turned 500GBP into 2500GBP. Needless to say he was impressed.

What Time Frames are you using on your trades?

Yesterday the system produced for me a nice 130 pips on the E/$. These are live trades on the 15M time frame using the 5 & 8 MA's as Tjpld suggested.
When entering these trades I am always aware of the Fibs & Pivot Points in relation to the price.

This system has been most impressive in the few days I have tradeded following the rules & now I'm inspired to make this a fulltime system for me. As I stated in my previous post I am a short - medium term trend trader & I will continue with that, but the Gamblers system will now be apart of the mix for me.

One aspect I have noticed is the bigger the diffrerence in the new candle as opposed to the previous candle, the more likely the trade will produce a greater amount of pips. On MetaTrade Charts on the 15M time frame observe the 05:15 candle on 11/04/08 & the next candle @ 05:30 there is 34 pips difference from the 05:15 CLOSE & the 05:30 CLOSE & note the move that followed. Not that more comformation is need, but one can looks for bearish & bullish candle formations & the DOJI is one that comes to mind.

Gambler180 you have really revealed an eye opener for everyone whether they are just starting out in this business, or have been trading for awhile & just looking for another tool to add to their trading tool box. Thanks you & keep posting your results.

Tjpld adding the 5 & 8 Ma's is no doubt a big reinforcement to the method as it is uncanny how they will support or refute the comtemplated trade. Thanks to you & keep updating everyone on your trades. Best trades to all.

edit: ...EU at an interesting area now in fact....daily, weekly and monthly pivot confluence, plus hourly channel resistance....T3 still sloping upwards though, no downside momentum....yet.

If you are following this thread, can you please reply and tell us what your entry point might have been on this chart? Is it still strictly as per Post #1, bar after a close above the trend change?
