Hi folks
i just need to vent / share at the same time so anyone else who have been in my situation boat can relate and sprinkle a few words of their wisdom to help everyone who is new and experienced here. we can all learn from each other
so here is the question.
What are your BIGGEST learning experiences when trading?
Biggest MISTAKE to make which leads to losses?
my 2 cents from my experiences
1) Biggest learning experiences
- There is always another trading opportunity so dont force a trade or feel bad when you miss a trade
2) never giveup learning
3) always get good sleep and get rested
4) dont rush into a trade without planning and reasoning
5) there is always a way...
Biggest mistakes: #1 and #3, a bit of #5 as well. Plus a difficulty with exiting a trade that is going against me .. not 'seeing' it objectively.
Where things started to turn the corner for me, apart from being in this thread, was a month or so ago when I began to 'watch' myself trade. Hard to explain, but I knew the problem was me, not my trading. I'm a knowledgable trader so it wasn't something 'else' I needed to learn (although one never stops learning & improving) but what stood between me and the really large consistent gains was ... just me. So when I identified my trading mistakes (mentioned above) I began to watch myself as I traded and would 'catch' myself making those mistakes again. I couldn't always stop myself (like exiting fast from a bad trade) but once I began observing the behaviour in real time each day it became easier to correct the psychology that was causing me to make these trading mistakes. Now I am starting to see them before they occur and my trading style is improving a lot (so is my acct balance)

i added more shorts at 159.10... if we don't go down from here we might range for the day or bounce back up.

can we all COLLECTIVEly NOT trade with FXCM? i have heard so much madness with fxcm and not being able to withdraw funds etc. why even support them. lets all boycott and take our business elsewhere
