No Slade I misinterpreted. the trade was up over $100 profit at one point but finally gave up on it when I was about $150 down.
I was however trying to pick a reversal spot.

Mostly I guess i am misinterpreting the importance or strength of anchor dislodgement.
In this case I gave it too much weight or didn't let the new anchors take hold.
In my 3 or 4 weeks watching, i haven't seen anchor dislodgements from the weekly slots that accurately predicted a reversal. (on the various Orest indicators)
They may have happened but I haven't seen them.

The two I have witnessed were short lived and lead me into loosing trades..

other's are seeing them, and using them.
it was a week or two ago on a Tuesday, T101 reports that he has made 6 basket trades 5 of which were winners. Over that time period i didn't see a trade to be made.

So,sadly, i don't have a magic reversal indicator for you. But i do post my trades when I can, so i can get feedback from others. I wish more of us would do the same.

I could really use a widened perspective, because I am not "getting it"
and I know it is there to be had.

Please post your trades (that have to do with the T101 perspective of course). with your reasoning (at the time of the trade if possible).

Hi Everyone,
I want to thank all the good guys like T101, Luke, Orest and others who are contributing unselfishly to this thread.
I want to use this opportunity to move a motion that all those people who have been calling T101 bad names should come out publicly and apologize to T101 so that he can come back and continue the thread and give us the remaining parts of the method.
I have been seeing Forex as a mystery and T101 has demystified it and I cannot keep quiet to see some idiots who cannot even wipe their backsides clean coming to call T101 names.
Therefore, I call on everybody that loves good to stand as one and ask those "I know much" guys to apologize to T101 else this thread is as good as closed.

I shorted the basket at 11:21 EST. In the course of 30 minutes, my account was up over 900 pips, but it was a roller coaster ride in the beginning.

As always, the question is where and when to get out. I am still in demo mode and learning the system, so, in truth, I didn't care about banking them and I just watched the pips disappear and go all the way back to zero in order to study what happened and why. As an aside, I note that the S&P's bottomed out at 11:55am and mounted a massive reversal to the upside, and haven't turned to look back since. This should have been Clue #1. Not making lower lows and lower highs. This may or may not be a valid indicator tomorrow (as some have suggested), but it worked well enough for me (again) today.

What got me into the trade was that the JPY and USD were very strong and the EURO was getting hammered. Thats the way I want to see it. As always, the GJ, EJ, and AJ were leading the way for the BUYS (ie. the strongest sells, also showing extreme JPY strength), but this time, also the EU was an anchor at in postition 1 in most of the nearest time frames I was looking at, showing serious weakness against the USD. On the other hand, CHF was floundering around the middle, rather than pounding against EUR and GBP, as I would ideally like to see it. But for me, JPY and USD strength and EUR on its back was enough to fire off a basket sell. Orest was also showing Strong SELL on 12, 4, 2, 1, 30 time frames, after 30 had just switched from Buy to SELL. Clue #2 to get out was that Orest 30 started to change to Buy, followed by 60 changing to Buy. Clue #3 was that EURJPY stopped making new lows (on 5 minute chart) and the bars started closing outside of the range of the previous bars (higher).

For a while, I was still looking for another short opportunity. But now, its a mixed bag as I see it and there is no clear indication on where this basket is going, though its still leaning towards another potential short trade this afternoon, based upon the longer time frames.

Maybe other traders were able to jump in an out of the basket several times already this morning. I only saw this one short set up. Like other trading systems, I think you need to be really patient with this system and not just enter because an indicator says buy or sell. The more I look at this and watch it (at least under recent market conditions), the more I am starting to think that each currency and/or pair has multiple dimensions to it and that its movement will not only be dictated by its opposite pair weakness or strength but also by the weakness or strength of the other major and minor currencies. Thanks again to T101 for defining this ibfx basket the way he did. Whether he knew it or not, it seems like he defined what makes EURJPY (and the basket) tick up and down. The biggest moves seem to take place not only when EUR is strong/weak against the JPY, but also when EUR joins up with GBP, NZD, and AUD against JPY, USD, and CHF.

Reverse it for the ideal SELL set up.

You will get moves when they are mixed up and in between this perfect combination, but they will not be sustained. But in general, as long as that balance is maintained and nobody crosses the line, you should see a continued and sustained move.

This is where I think the indicator development should proceed from here.

I dont know how to program. But for those who do, I think this is the future of this system. Defining some kind of an indicator that would, perhaps, plot relative strength on a vertical plane and would fire off buys and sells, per the above rules.

Unfortunately, it seems like interest in T101's method has disappeared, along with him. Hopefully there are still out there following it and trading it.

I guess that this Trader101 system has been diverted from the start. It may not mean what we've been hoping at all.

Maybe only people with Slade-like patience :-) are able to finally grasp the system.

Here are my stupid guess.

I am not sure who hold short basket placed from 1 month ago, but if someone does, that basket should have 10000+ pips profit now at least.

not many people noted how many profit are got on short basket vs long baskets......

yeah, my point is: this system is not for you to collect a few 10s or 100s pips intra-hour or intra-4hour. this system is for daily/weekly trading.

if you think that i'm wrong, then look at the Orest's Dashboard on the column of last week/2weeks/month. do you see these change significantly day by day? my eyes told me "no" or "just a little bit". last few weeks, are always "sell strong", so if you keep selling when week/month column don't change, you will keep winning.

this is a great tool to capture and identify the "daily trend" in forex market. my "daily trend" in FX is defined in such a way, you open a daily chart, for 10+ days, the pair has consistently changed toward one direction (up/down), with an average of ATR of at least 50.

lower than this "daily trend", you are in fact risking 1.5 lot of your capital (if MT4 with 200:1 leverage) for just 100$ or 300$? that's f##king ridiculous.

I do remember that Trader101 encourages intra-day trading, capturing every up or down, with fast profit like 100s $$$. However, I believe he is trying to dig deeper this his own invention, but doesn't mean that this is his major way to gain profit.

there is no quick way to learn this system, you watch it for weeks at least.

so, instead of getting paranoid in indicators or "today i won 300 pips on demo", watch the IA day by day, that's best thing to do.

RR and quite a few others did suggest using Snagit, right?

Trader101, if i were him, will be bored staying here too, ppl with focus are too scarce.

Looks like I missed out on a huge LONG basket trade over the past couple of hours. Did anybody catch that? I have to say that I am still biased in favor of following the direction of the longer time frames and have not developed a good method for knowing when the reversal is in place. It started with a revolt on the shorter time frame (30M)...all were SHORT and then 30M went long. Then as the move progressed, each time frame gave in and changed to LONG, all the way up to This Week, although 12 hour is still showing SHORT on my Orest indi.

If you think about it, these reversals have to start somewhere, right? I would think that they move out from the middle, and on the smallest time frame that you are following, then, as they continue, each higher time frame changes in that direction until the move is exhausted and/or reverses. This should show up as a tandem trade or slot jumpers on a static IA and eventually (depending on how old your IA is) result in a complete reversal with anchor displacement and all buys and sells switching places. But on Orest's indi, the slot jumpers seem like anchors being displaced on shorter time frames. Remember T101's Lesson #1?

Problem for me is that when I try to follow these small revolts out of the middle from the lowest time frame on up in an effort to catch a reversal trend, I usually get chopped up in one way or another. Thats why I favor the trend of the longer time frames and looking for an obvious bias and waiting for the perfect entry. Of course, this isn't easy either, but seems more reliable to me.

Has anyone come up with a reliable way of catching these reversals?

if we think over what Trader101 repeatedly told us, it is RELIABLE when 'dislodge' happens, which means a trend has been going for a while.

all in all, we have to come back to the earth: how do we know the trend is really a trend, very safe to enter? AFTER the trend started and run for a moment.

catching jumping pairs is:
1. not as high sucessful as basket
2. not sufficient to serve as trend pointer, (am i wrong? guess not)

a trend that has been a while is a trend that you feel safe, right? so that should be a big trend, not a 30 min or 3 hours trend, but a 3days, or 2weeks trend.

Hope you guys stay with this thread. I am a silent learner trying to grasp this system. I have read & re-read the old and new thread for a little while now. I do not ask a lot of questions becuase I am not there yet and trying to learn it on my own. The comments Charvo and Slade (and others) post are very helpful. Trying to get to a point where I can post an intelligent comment of my own. I am getting there. Hope you guys continue the discussion.

if two weeks trend then a simple line chart can tell already, why do we need these extra indicators?

That is exactly my ultimate doubt.

Many in this thread yelling about winning 300$, 1000$, 3000$ per day. That's no big deal really. During these 2 months, when you invest 2000$ (1.5 lot in MT4 with 200:1), isn't a simple MA system also capable of this?

Don't get me wrong, i'm absolutely NOT saying this is not a good system. This is great!

but we need time and patience to watch it and understand.
