Ronald Raygun, could you show a graphic of your EA so that I can see what it is supposed to look like. I just set up a demo on a new FXDD platform and nothing seems active. I had everything on IBFX before. Do I need a different Magic Number on each RR EA on each chart? Or do we use the same number which the default is 0? Please advise because I would like to get the EA working. Could someone help me with this?

Misterpipster, the fastest way to get what you want is to read RR's posts. Just search his posts, all the info is there several times.

Attach the EA to each chart with the settings that you want (SL, TP etc). Use a unique magic number for each pair .
Make sure you've allowed trading and have the smiley face in upper right corner of your screen.

The other thing is you need ccfp.exe in your indicators folder. If it's a different file I'm sure RR will let you know

hi

i've downloaded both the ccfp en the ccfpv1.0.2 and put them in the expert indicator map.

but when i'm back in metatrader and double click on ccfp a window pops up where you can set stuff up like allow dll imports.
i just click on ok when i see that window but the indicator doesn't work

can somebody explain where i go wrong?

when the last 16:00 4H bar was closed at Fxpro, GB´, AUD and NZD was strong using the first indicator posted by Skyline. Then after wait 10 minutes after the close i opened:

LONG: AUDCAD, AUDUSD, AUDJPY, NZDUSD, GBPUSD, GBPCHF and GBPJPY

short: EURGBP

i have now a drawndow around 800 pips.

i made some mistake (no use stop loss not included as it is demo) or it was only a bad trade?

and thanks ES for share your system and Skyline and Ferrux for the indicators.

I didn't get any 4 h signals from the FerruFX indicator (the 2 given aren't on fxdd) . So I changed the timeframe to 60 minutes and got audusd and audjpy as recommended shorts. I took the trades and am up 120 demo pips so far.

So that's another way to use the indi for trade signals imo

DON'T READ THE FOLLOWING!!!!!!

 

  1. By default, I always release my public EAs with a lot size of 0. I do this for two reasons:

    1. It protects any user who may not have as large an account as mine
    2. It prevents users from blindly attaching the EA to their charts, blowing their accounts, and blaming me for it. It's happened too many times for me to ignore, and I'm sick of it

  2. The EA uses the original CCFp indicator posted early on in this thread. None of the subsequent versions are compatible.
  3. The magic number for each EA must be different to guarantee that the EAs will not try to manage each other's trades
  4. The EA only works with brokers that use 6 character symbols.

    1. "EURUSD" works
    2. "EURUSDx" does not work

  5. Many of you probably missed the part where the creator of this system mentioned that he/she entered the trades 10-15 minutes after the bar opens. Thus, the EA also waits 10-15 minutes after the bar opens.

I made only one trade today because had been busy since morning. The EA delayed in taking the profit at $500 but only closed me out at around $200 profit. If we do not hope for too much pips, this system rocks. Maybe I will consider it a scalping method(Just my thoughts).

I have the same problem! I wonder if it has anything to do with the version of MT4 - I've been struggling with this issue for a while.

Look in the experts and journal tab, what errors do you see?
Are you using build 218?

It won't load at all so nothing shows up on the journal. How do I tell if I'm using build 218?

Using IBFX, my candle time is different, and the last two four hour candles have been bad. But, starting somewhat of a recovery in the past several minutes. A question for you, or anybody. I love having the indicator showing which currency is strong and weak, and which ones to long or short at a glance. What do you think about using the four hour chart alongside a one hour chart, 30 minute chart and 5 minute chart to visulaize the trend, and going for 10 or 20 pips?

Looks like CCFp_v1.0.2b.mq4 doesn't refresh properly
It said all positives but when I closed and re-opened the platform some changed to negative ??

Got a demo-account at Alpari.
My MT4 platform has become hopelessly slow after openeing a few charts, though I am on an AMD X64, running Win XP64, 4GB mem, 3 monitors, 4 HDs with plenty of space, a pagefile of another 4 gig and a 16 Mbit connection.

Everything virus checked with NOD32: nothing found. All other software is rununning flawlessly. Tried to change affinity of MT4 to one processor only, increased priority to "high" for the task. But nothing helps.

The only reason I could imagine is the addition of this 5th decimal number in the price, which is not necessary at Alpari. No idea any more how I caught it.

Does one of you specialists know how I can change that?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can't change that. Most brokers will eventually go to 5 digit pricing. I've had it now with my broker for several months. Some brokers will give you the choice of 4 or 5 digits, but the spread is different.

still don´t open trades.

I´m not trying to be a pain in the ass. Just reporting ea problems or not.

For example i had the ea running at 20:00 GMT, but it didn´t opened any trade. Did your opened?

I copied the original CCFp indicator to experts\indicators folder, but i´m still
getting the following message: "2008.10.15 20:05:10 CCFp NZDCHF,H4: unknown subwindow number -1 for ObjectCreate function".

I´m not sure what is wrong.

Change the timesso that start is 0 and end is 240. See if it takes a trade then. My guess is that your lot size is 0

@ FerruFx - One more request The last thing that I think would make this indi even more great is add an option on it to place the trades according to what your indicator is saying buy just clicking an object on the indicator when you want to place the trades. Not sure if that is possible or not
