brokers are widening spreads coz ,there is lack of liquidity within banks in the Markets due to the Global financial crisis

Unless you plan to keep your trades for another hour, you shoud not buy... Bearish divergence on 5 m.. 1h and 4h bearish.. not much retrace in the start of asian session either

Thank you for your email regarding the spread on the GBP/JPY. The GBP/JPY spread tends to be wider in general compared to other majors and the wide spread is because of liquidity, market timing (none of those two markets are open at the time of your email), and mostly current market conditions.
The spread shown on the website is under normal market conditions. Since we are a no dealing desk firm we do not manipulate the spreads and rollover interest like some dealing desk firms do. A dealing desk firm will tend to requote their client's orders when market conditions are not favorable to them, so you might not be filled at what you see on the dealing window. The rates you see on FXCM are directly quoted from our banking partners not by in house dealers.
The spreads fluactuate through out the day depending on which market conditions and current economic events are certainly a contributor to the widening of spreads. At FXCM we strive to be the best in trade execution and cost efficiency for our clients.
So make of that what you will.. I missed out most of the day today cause i had to do my real job
but a meager +800 pips yesterday so I'm looking forward to today..
