Cornflower Hourly System

So far so good on my AUD trade from last Wednesday, there was a chance to enter last friday night too.... I could have added to the trade but was not brave enough

Hey ice man trying the 5 min 40 pips in the bag things seem to be slowing so taking a break
Also do you check other timeframes to exit or do stick to the 5m? I went back and looked at these trades on the 15 and up and I didnt have such a bad deal on the second trade but didnt want to give anything back. So Im gonna stay away from the 5m too questionable for me.

Good trades on the 5min but I agree with the fact that everyone needs to feel comfortable in the time frame that they are trading.

I have the cornflower EMA's set on the hourly chart as well just as a reference. This does not influence my trades in the 5min at all but sometimes I'll take a long EUR trade, for example, and exit when it reaches a descending EMA in the hourly. Just a thought.

I love trading sunday nights into monday. They always have such strong trending movements and with all of this market volatility it makes it even better! I only have trades on this chart from late last night but I was taking shorts in the New York afternoon/evening as well that gave me some good pips.

Box #1 is a very nice retrace but I just exited a trade from earlier and this was when I went to lay down for a bit. Box #2 is a place where you could hav gotten multiple entries if you didn't get in on the first hit. What a great trade that would have been as well. Box #3 was right before I woke up so I missed that trade but Box#4 I did enter and took +25 and +37 because of the S2 pivot line.

Box #5 is another trade that I took but was not too sure because of the strong gap down at the open earlier and the close proximity of S2 and its obvious strength. Lo and behold, it was a loss. -25 and -25 but no worries.

Box #6 was a nice long setup that I gladly took. I entered at 3588 and took profit at 3613 (+25) and 3643 (+55). Wow! What a close one. I always take a good profit short of the pivot but that was purely divine intervention.

Sadly though at Box #7 I took another double loss of -25 and -25. That was a good setup that I quickly jumped into with a little bit of confidence. This is a time when I look back in hindsight and say to myself..."this is a game of probabilities not what trades you like or don't like. Forget nice trades and just follow the system." How true because just when you think this is a perfect bounce for higher highs it reverses.

Box #8 I missed because I had some things to do but was an absolute perfect trade but one thing to remember. This is why it is best to watch the markets but move a limit order instead of hoping you have quick enough hands. That price looked like it bounced very quickly.

Box #9 is where I did go short and I took +25 and +25, conservatively. I felt no need to go for more pips even though now it looks as though we might be getting lower lows and I type this.No worries...there are always more trades everyday on the 5min chart.

Well EY has been smokin for me lately and my broker has had outrageous spreads on the pound. After the candle that bounced off of the 50 fib and closed on the 24 I entered at around 138.90 I exited early had to go pick up the kids but got 53 pips out of it. The high on the entry candle was 137.92 and the low of the next candle was 136.57 catch ya all later

Well here a goes a really active night for me got a total of 214 pips last but this was the only cornflower that I took. All the red arrows were the ones I thought too long on for one reason or another but I stayed out of them. The red hand sign is the one I took simply because that spike couldnt hold. Now funny thing that spike bounced right off of the 24 on the 4h wish I could have saw that. So I have decided to have an alarm written for the ema's. Hope the trading is going good for everyone

Well these are come crazy days we are dealing with and the system has proven itself to some extent for me even in the ugliest of markets.

10-7-08 Euro was quite the hectic trading session. Box #1 I did not trade but turned to be a loser by 2 pips past the 25pip stop that I would have had. Box #2 was a good trade but I only took +25 on the first position and break even on the second. It missed my profit target by a few pips. Box #3 was a clear loser with -25 and -25.

Box #4 was an awesome trade that gave me +25 and then I set my second position at break even but as you can see I lost connection. Haha...I was stressed but everything worked out. Box #5 actually stopped me out for -25 and -25 again! But I reentered when the market showed support at the EMA's. I only got +25 and +0 though. So it was becoming quite tough at this point and then Box #6. The market went right down to my stop and then went back and forth for a while. At this point with another -25 and -25 I decided to call it quits for the day. No Big deal...I needed a losing day sooner or later.

10-8-08 Euro was another crazy day and I am done trading already this morning. Box #1 was a nice short that I was hoping for lower lows but only got +25 and +0. No Problem and that has since proved to be the low for the day. Box #2 was a nice trade even though I didn't like the 5 min candle that took a nose dive towards the EMA's. I expected this one to be a loser. I got +25 and +0 and was hoping that trade would be one I could let run as well for higher highs. Not this time!

Box #3 was a straight out loser that proved to be a good long trade a few hours later. -25 and -25 on that one. Box #4 was my last trade for the day and it went for -25 and -25.

These are days that test your determination in a system. I know that there is an edge with the cornflower trading but these days are range bound volatility which is some of the most difficult to trade. I used to trade a breakout system and these days would drive me insane. I would be going long at the high of the day and short at the low...I've since learned a better way.

The first chart on the left is my entry on the 30m the red arrow was my entry. Now I went in modest because I figured there was going to be a move up more. So I was jumping around the 30m, 1h, and 4h. The next chart on the right is a 4h showing alot of up and down movement, but the bears are in control and the bulls cant hold aboce the 12 on the 4h. So I took this one thinking that we would have another drop at this time, but it jumped I went down about 100 pips and closed with 43 leaving 13 pips to the bottom of the engulfing candle on the 30m. This was entirely risky and I do not recomend it but it is an option if the other timeframes coincide.

Im a little disappointed in myself on this short but it worked out I entered on the open of the last candle here on the 4h timeframe but Im a bit tired so I closed it a bit early. I entered at 137.71 and exited at 40, 31 pips of profit but right now its in the low teens. So with that I say good night. Also I didnt get my full entry only about 50% normal risk as the market started moving at about the time I entered my limit. Should have just zeroed and let it run.

Really not a bad down trend on the oz glad to hear others are doing well too!

Found another on the EY still open entered at 137.54 stop set at 138.04 and we will see it just jumped up a few so I want to see 5m close below 137.36 and If I dont I will look for 5-10 pips

Well I came within 2 pips of my stop luckily no huge swings on my spreads ended up closing at 137.27. +27 pips doesnt seem like much but I use high risk focus on winning trades not on amount of pips. So Id like to ask the users how much of a percentage do you risk on this style. The most I use would be 8% over 100 pips and the least is 4% over 60 pips assuming my order gets filled.

Hey again EY started dropping awhile ago and I finnally start seeing a pull back but couldnt get entry for some reason and then I went to a one minute chart and found a solid point at the red arrow saw it go to 16 up and then 16 down and float but 5 and 15 still looked good so held on to it set an exit at 30 pips then moved it to 40 moved it and instantly got hit for 39.something. The volitility lately is absolutely amazing.
Entry 133.73 got filled at .741
exit 133.35 got filled at .355

Awesome posts and I like the idea of 1min charts. I wil give them a try and experiment with different EMA's as well.

I decided to take the morning off as I do not like trading on fridays in NY session. I was l flipping thru channels and saw that the euro was tanking, the attached chart is EUR/USD the close of the arrowed candle was 3562. I really want to stress the strength of this candle in its position an inverted hammer that closes right on the 24 is a must enter in my book. Now even in this crazy market right every one of my cornflowers this week was a winner. went 16 for 16 on them could have made more on some of them but some of them could have turned into losers. So have a good weekend everyone and lets see if the Euro opens at 3200 or less on sunday.

This is a 4 hour trade i took yesterday on the oz, T/P was 400 pips as I was not around to watch .... pretty happy with that

Ive been looking at the Eur/Aud and noticed it is another one that follows the strat pretty well here is an entry at 2.0314 and my exit was at 2.0364 in the next couple of candles there was a good jump than some indecision and I set a limit to exit at +30 got out at the close of that candle it traced back about 20 pips then shot up again so on the one minute taking profits at 10-30 pips is a solid mark on this pair.

Kod and Bob are burning it up. I love to see multiple traders making real profits using this great system. Below are today's trades and I traded both the EUR and GBP just for a change.

Eur 10-13-08 Box #1 is when I woke up and first took that long trade. I got +25 and +0. After that I wanted to see a break to new highs for another long trade but saw the market break lower. Box #2 is a short that I took and just barely missed profit but moved one position to break even since it only missed by a couple of pips...-25 and +0. Box #3 is a straight forward loser that I thought would continue the upside but did not. -25 and -25.

Box #4 that I like to take in choppy markets where price breaks the longer term EMA and then retraces almost immediately. It has been a high probability trade that has worked out for me quite well. I took +25 and +25 conservatively.

Box #5 I missed because I was out but Box #6 I took the short at the longer term EMA and just took +25 and +25 on that one. So +50 pips on the day for the EUR.

GBPUSD I traded this today because monday's are a very trendy day and it was proven on the pound. Box #1 I wasn't awake for just yet but Box #2 was the same setup and I took +25 and +43. Box #3 was another great setup that I took +25 and +80 because that was just short of the R2 pivot.

Box #4 was a trade that I was hesitant since the trend had been so strong so I took +25 and +25. Box #5 was the failure and I missed profit by a pip. -25 and -25.

Box #6 was my last trade and I took +25 and +25 conservatively. So the day ended in GBP at +223 pips. I am done GBP for the rest of the week.

After sitting here and watching these pairs just run away I finnaly got an entry. This is the one minute chart on EY entry at the lower arrow and exit around the upper arrow. Now once my stocks match the trend on the upper time frames I noticed that they tend to bottom and go. So if the higher time frames are looking at an upward trend then I wait for my stocks to bottom once they bottom and I have an entry on the candles meaning that a conrflower entry is there I either buy or enter a limit. So got in at 139.92 and exit at 140.5 break even day for me got over confident last night. But everytime I think this is a good time to exit it pushes even higher wow what a day
