512MB DRAM?

I have seen this many times at Bloomberg TV and only now did I put attention to it.

I noticed a commodity "512MB DRAM" priced at 0.66 (it is listed along with Coffee, Wheat etc...)

What the heck! 512MB computer DRAM now traded as a commodity?

This is the single most idiotic thing! Of course it's price will drop overtime. So why is it listed anyways?

Or am I understanding it wrongly? Can anyone hit me in the head with explanations/educations?

I remember when I got my PC assembled, the dealer guy was well versed with the ups and downs of RAM prices. He advised me to wait for just 1 week to buy additional RAM. I followed his advise and got the RAM much cheaper than the previous market price.

If you are familiar with some HYIP scams, there is a so called Autosurf which exchanges weblinks among members.. Its a lame (or bright depends on how you think about it) system for a Ponzi Scheme.

And yes, because of these scams, I learned and eventually traded forex.. so in a way, I am greatful of these scams for opening the forex doors to me.
