Put it in the scripts folder not the experts folder. When you get to the experts folder open it and then open the scripts folder it goes in there. When you drag it on the screen click allow live trading and it should work. Turn off the EA first and dont try to go to different screens until it is done. Once in a while it doesnt close all the trades so you have to restart it again.

I had a great day also except for the Eur/aud which killed my day. WOW over 1500 points, never seen a currency do that before. Oh well, Today will be a hard day because I use support and resistance lines and they are going to be spread very wide today. Will see. I left some demos run and they got wiped out. I was too busy with my live account to bother with them once I got home. I simply have no advice to give on record days. How do you give advice on currencies that are moving over a 1000 pips a day? Never seen that before. So be very careful.

I use this expert advisor to close all trades. It always works well. Just attach it to any chart and it instantly closes all trades.

They run off of the daily trend but you can use them on any chart. What chart you use them on does not affect their operation.

looks like the JPY currencies are starting to make BIG moves. Already moved more than 200 pips in the last hour.

I am in my second day of demoing 100/40.Already up >5100 pips.I said it was a revolution...mean every word of it!!

I'm out for a few hours at least. Made my pips for the day and I'll watch to see how everything goes. Also, Thank you SO much to gerrigirl for the stop order script. This is the first one that's actually worked for me!!

Just tossing this out there for anyone who is still running right now...
Bernanke is speaking in the next few hours, hence the market is stale right now. Things WILL swing wildly after he talks. I'm not your dad, but I would suggest finding a close if you are still trading the 100/40 before he talks. I'm willing to bet a shiny new nickel that whichever way things go, they will be outside the boundaries of the EA for an hour or so.

Looks like he is done saying his thing and the markets are back to work. Looks like I owe some shinny nickels. The moves were mostly small. Ah well, better safe than sorry! I'm back in for the day.

No problem, but I think it was nanningbob who posted it, I just assumed it was an ea and have been using like that ...and it worked. I never tried it as a script like he said to do.
I shut down today around 10:30 am because I couldn't be around to monitor it, but my demo did great. I wish I could let my live account run like I do the demo...without any emotions attached to it.... I get into panic mode sometimes when I see some drawdown and shut down to early without letting the ea do it's thing. o well it's better to be safe than sorry...I restarted my live acct again around 3:00pm.

My EA was not designed for this kind of action. I am gonna sit on the sidelines for a while. These are all records and I did not include the gaps so some of them would be even worse. I saw the Eur/aud move over 400 points in 30 minutes. Well good night folds. I was a winner across the board until the Eur/aud. Well, I never have seen anything like this. I hope the financial markets arent collapsing. What is really scary is it is not even 11 am yet, what is going to happen next.
Hi Bob,

I am thinking that can we improve the EA by let it automaticlly adapt to the market?
For example, in the day like 2008-10-06, the EA increase the distance betweem each trade to keep the waves within the system's range. For days with small waves, decreas the distance (a minimum distance can be set)

I am not a coder, maybe other people can code this.


BTW, I think I found a bug in the 100-40 EA: when profit target is reached with first trade and the price has not got the TP level(or you can set TP = 0 to not use TP), the EA doesn't close the trade, only after the price go against you and opened other trades, the profit target start working.

Another huge spike on AUD/USD from IBFX. They have too many big spikes too often. It concerns me a lot. I am wondering if I better try another broker... Any idea?

It had nothing to do with IBFX, that spike was real and went with all the AUD pairs. The Eur/Aud had a 400 point move in 20 minutes that day and moved over 1500 points that day doubling its previous record. JPY had a spike that moved over 100 points in less than 5 minutes today. If you check your charts all the Aud currencies spiked. We are living in wild times and right now the markets are moving outside the range of the my EA or anyones EA or system. If you are a novice or experienced trader we are seeing moves that have never happened before. The stocks worldwide have lost 30-50% of their value, read the news, you can make or lose money very quickly right now and it has nothing to do with EAs, indicators, brokers, etc. Our foundations of our financial systems are in big trouble. My recommendation is to stay out right now and keep your money safe. Preservation of capital is key. If you trade stay in the quieter moments of the trading day. The US open until noon is off limits unless you like high gamble trading.

Hi Bob, I thought so too first but my LIVE FXCM chart does not show that spike on AUD/USD. Yes, FXCM chart shows some spikes on other pairs but not on AUD/USD. My demo chart from Metaquotes does not show it either. I also read the following thread about the spike so I am still wondering what I should do.

Dont know. I have quit trading for now because too many currencies are outside the range of my EA. In the past my EA has picked up the spike entered at the top and made big profits but they werent 500 point spikes either. Most have been in the 100-200 range and I would pocket big profits. I quit trading the NZD for this reason and the AUD and CAD are too weak of currencies during strong fundamentals to get retracements out of them. Maybe others can shed light on this but for me I am going to sit on the sidelines. I did not design my EA to operate under such historic conditions.

My plan for now is to turn on the EA after the USA morning session around noon and then turn it off the next day before the USA open. This would give me about 18 hours trading everyday and keep me away from all this craziness. I dont know how to give advice on markets like this because they just have not been seen before. As you know my basic theory is markets seldom move more than 3-400 points a day and that is not happening right now. I wish I could give you better advice than this but I have always tried to be honest with my EA both the good and bad.
