the traps, sorry i mean the technical levels, is there anything proves them scientifically? or they're just a gang mades to tell your next move? because among the articles i have read about technicals no one mentioned a good logical reason for them to be there, the only thing that i saw while reading those articles is that they're not convinced about what they're talking but trying to convince you..
I recommend you read something else as this sentence is now concluded.

Also im observing huge dayly bullish divergence on the CCI30 but none on MACD or RSI. Anyone else noticing this one?

I'm a fundamental trader, but technicals are valuable for determining where the price is going to stop/break through as in support/resistance, psychological levels, etc.

However, during market conditions like these (volatile like mad, significant events being announced, etc) technicals get tossed out the window.

According to the latest rumors, BOE might announce rate cut at 9.30 am GMT.. this is the same as the retail sales announcement - so doubtful they will do a rate cut. It will be amazing if they actually do it + weak retail sales - could see a nice 300-400 pip drop in GU.

take this with pinch of salt, heard rumour on cnbc that BoE may cut rates to ease money markets 9.30 UK time this morning.....

see, the point that all of this stuff works depends on how many use it!
same with floor trader pivots. they have lost in significance, but the market movers know that this is a place for many traders to react. this is why you often see fakeouts etc. sucking s/r traders in and catching some stops before going on. its not seldom to see pivot breakdown, come up again to close above and the shoot back down. all those levels are just critical areas...it is an area of hunting for market makers. they know that the prey "lives" there and so they can play their games.
same with fib. there is not yet any substantial proof that it really works, but price often reacts to fib levels. there are currently some studies going on about fibs.
this also applies to the fact, that you only should draw obvious trendlines, because with that you can assume that the majority of traders also has seen this TL. its all about the way the herd, no matter if humans or animals, thinks and acts.

dont get me wrong, i did not say NO longs in play today. i only said trading in the current situation is money burning, because this manoeuvre you see on your charts has NO OTHER purpose than taking your money.

like i was saying in my previous post, there was a retracement coming but nobody would listen. Yeah, follow the trend, but keep in mind that the general trend is downwards.it has completed the ride to abt 191.70, like i said it would do from the 188 region...next point is downwards to about the 186 region. The govts of the world is pumping in cash to the central banks world wide, this might be a good deal and a relief for dow today. pls check for a small reversal at us open

but try to call the history, go look at any chart you want, put it on MN and just try to live each move the market had, you'll findout that this market is going into loop, technicals holds for 3-4 years which make forex attractive for those who're looking for wealth and after those years an extreme number of traders will lose their money just to feed up gangs wallet ... i might be wrong but there's something that i do need to understand, why central banks dont trade forex? i mean they are able to reach any information or report they want just a mins before the release? anybody got a good reason?
I recommend you read something else as this sentence is now concluded.

just heard...many banks have reduced their leverage from 100:1 to 20:1 during the current "crisis". so there pretty much is no liquidity and meanwhile they try to generate some more liquidity by chasing your stops.
