Well, most of it is luck in a way. I had a sell set 20 pips down. I felt it would go down with it holding at 2% and more if it was lowered 50 basis points. So call it what u will

when there are news, ALWAYS look for a divergence before hand, and trade with it, no matter what the news outcome is, it will work 90% of the time!

and in this case, that was a clear bearish HD

i am not malcomb - but i believe its good for the US - cutting rates is no solution to their problems - they need a stronger dollar to get out of this rut ... so from a longer term perspective its good that they arent cutting rates for now.

surprised you took that risk on such a large news item

if you guys really want ot trade news spikes i will teach you how a day trader does it

wait for the initial sike ... if you open 10 pips lower than 1st 5 min spike go short .,

if as in this case the price reversed to half of the downcandle ( no more than half) take short ...in this case enntry was 187 for 50 pips ( safe pips )
as soon as price stalls get out.

now there is NO follow through of the spike down = bullish to me = no sellers ... so got to wait for this one to work out

m30 and lower

there was a bearish hidden divergence on m30/m15
and a class bearish on 5m

all CCI30 and scrat's MACD adjustable
