Everything you said is right, but I think their weekend prices are BS, as someone said earlier, the patterns are symmetrical, and there is no way that's possible.

The VT trader chart is showing the price over the weekend...

That is amazing that the VT trader is still moving over the weekend..

I expect that US gasoline supplies are going to be the driving factor this week and we may see some seriously strange things about. The following states have already declared emergencies because of low gas supplies.

Alabama
North Carolina
West Virginia
Kentucky
Arkansas
Georgia

These were our gasoline stock levels going into Ike.

Ike has shut down a quarter of the US refining capacity. Even assuming no damage (extremely unlikely), they will be down for a minimum of 7-10 days. With the power situation in Texas right now, they could possibly be down for weeks.

The Colonial pipeline, which supplies gasoline to the the Southeast and Atlantic Coast states is currently shut down. All supplies to these states will have to be trucked in unless they get the pipeline running quickly.

We will either see huge price spikes ($10+/gallon) or rationing very quickly. Disruptive does not begin to cover what I expect to see.

And just so you know, we need about 170 million barrels just to keep the pipelines, storage tanks, and tanker trucks filled and operating. We only have a few hours of operating capacity above the minimum levels, even when things are working perfectly.

Here is the Colonial Pipeline, which is shut down. It normally carries 2.3 million barrels/day of gasoline.

If you live in one of those states, you better hope that the refineries in Texas get started up really quick.

The Explorer pipeline, from Texas/LA to Indiana is also shut down for lack of supply (700,000 bpd). So midwest is also looking at problems.

I've used CMSFX for years...and VT Trader for years....and have NEVER seen prices over the weekend.....have logged into my software several times trying to see these "weekend" prices....and i see nothing.

would love to know how you are getting prices using the platform!!!
