Profit taking in a trend

Can anyone please share with me your favorite method of determining when to take profit in a trending market. Thx.

A trailing stop loss. About 50 pips behind price action. Nice and simple!

I trade mostly the gbpusd and it has a daily range of around 134 pips. So depending when I get in I like to take profits after it has moved 80 pips 100 pips and close out at 120 pips. Also I take into consideration previous points of resistance and supports and use those as markers. I work during the day so I normally try to close it by 7am eastern time especially if there is news scheduled. The gbpusd 74.9% the time will retrace to the 50 fib level that day or sometime during the next day so it is good(in my opinion) to close it out other wise a 50% retracement on a 130 pip move is 65 pips. I have just noticed this recently that it normally starts retracing around 10am eastern and there after so for now If I am in a trade at that time I will close it. Like I said I work during the day so I usaully take what I have before I head off to work.
