Charting may be a definative method to sieve thru the actual market moving fundamentals. Nevertheless it has its short comings that, it is still a lagger.
Understand that the charts are historical footprints of the market,
therefore they can hardly be predictive, without imposing on it assumptions.
AND i am one who is strongly against, imposing assumptions on my charts,
for me thats THE FALLACY, i mentioned in the title of this thread.
I much prefer to flow with it than to read things into it.
For all that I have posted, I hope this point comes across crystally clear.
Nevertheless, there are Technical Analyst who subscribe to predictive analyst,
I call them System Analyst instead.
And I have seen of the things that happens to rigid methodology and mindset, to know better.
For me I , I hold close to my heart, the Basics of Technical Analysis and Charting.

Hi! All,
I noticed that my broker, FXCM is charging spread of about 2.3 pips for E/U most of the time. And a lot of you are not using FXCM, thus, I would like to know is 2.3 pips high? acceptable? what is the market standard spread for E/U?
On the other hand, I found FXCM is supportive & their TS user friendly. However, if got lower spread with equal features elseway, why not!

In a post last night I mistakenly said zero spread and zero commissions with gft... I'm sorry meant to say 1pip spread on e/u..
I also hope fti doesn't abandon us completely, but I do feel he deserves a well earned rest from us and our questions....we have loads of material to learn from and we should continue with the learning and helping each other to make him proud.

Hi guys av been lurkin in the shadows fo a while now still not thru readin the whole thread yet, but its really wonderful fo now am tryin to work on my mindset gotta hav that battle mind en stop bein a pig

Actuall, I am about going to check with gft because of the zero spread you mentioned, an unbelieveable news to me
and prompt me about my E/U spread. Nevertheless, 1 pip is great compared mine. May I confirm with you GFT always charge 1 pip? means that they offer FIXED spread? regardless market conditions? You know, sometimes, checking is necessary as I experienced brokers who do not charge as what they claim.May I know what is strange about with the markets ?

billionaire....cannot tell you if it's 1 pip all the time just know that each time I've placed a trade it has been....check out their site, they have a page which gives all the spreads for all currency pairs...don't know why you would trade some of them though spreads are huge...

the only time i get 3 pip spreads is around news time for around 5 min and 1 pip spreads when the market is just going sideways.

To tell you one problem I faced quite often : I have to go away for dinner, lunch, breakfast, even supper sometimes; go washroom to make 'cake'
while deep in the battlefield fighting, Or found I missed a good dance when not in front of the screen; trading seem not easy!
