Friends,
after seeing such a strong bull I feel it might take a weekend rest, so I am taking the day off.

Be carefull, 200+ pips drops on a day for E/U. It is a little too much. I wonder if there will be a strong rebound before the next run...just wondering...what a day! I checked past history: the average daily volatility is 107. Not to many 200+ days!

After the breach of 110 in USDJPY I tend to be long biased.
Waiting a little if we will see a strong rebound before sending my USDJPY long scout in.

I just read the posts from this past week. Sounds like most everyone rode the $ strength against the Eur this week. Good job! One prevailing impression after reading some of the posts from Tuesday and Wednesday is a sense of frustration in a few traders with the dollar strength even in light of US economy weakness. Never forget that you are trading currency pairs, and it is not just a one way street.

US economy is weak now: high inflation, unemployment at 5.7%, GDP +1.9%, big concerns with financial sector. However, every week there are steps to deal with and correct problems (even though new problems seem to enter the picture each week, too). The prospects for US are for continued weakness but the light may be at the end of the tunnel, at least for some of the problems. FOMC helped clear up some of the picture early in the week, but big oil drop really helps everyone.

ECB let the cat out of the bag about Europe being increasingly in big trouble. EU GDP will be released next week, but on Thursday Mr. Trichet sounded like it may be close to 0 or even negative. Europe may be in really big trouble, and market expectations went against them big time this week. So, US economy may suck, but expectations are now that Europe sucks more. Wait for the PA next week, but if # out of Europe confirm negative expectations, watch the Big D continue to soar. If the numbers suck less that expected, E/$ may retrace big time.

Can't wait for Monday morning...good trading next week, everyone!

I second that "what a week", its like you don't fully appreciate the way the market moved till you stand back and look at weeks end.

Last night I was just wondering why such a strong dollar amidst weak news, recession and all?
I suppose its not the dollar thats strong but everyone else is just getting weaker.

If we all got on the right bus all our rescues were successful last week which is nice to say, and a big thanks to fti for teaching us the method.

Friday seemed to close ny session with the same mannerism as the rest of the week so it sure would seem difficult for me to place trades against last weeks trend, well so much for my bias I'll just have to be in the here and now when the market opens.

Hello fti!

I've been lurking around for some time, reading and trying to understand your method. I started learning forex only 8 months ago and luckily from the 2nd month of my education I've been focusing on naked trading solely. This is my second month of live trading and I'm already achiveing results I would never have hoped for. My only concern is how much i can trust brokers?

You are the only person I know who trades multiple lots, so I'd like to hear your opinion on this. Can I trust brokers (Oanda at the moment) with 50 std lot positions just as easily as with 1 mini lot?

I might be paranoid but I heard/read so many things about suddenly broken connectios, frozen platforms etc.

Until this issue isn't clear I dont really dare trading large volumes.

I wrote you an email a few days ago on this, which you didnt answer. If you didnt respond on purpose just say so and I wont ask again.

As USDJPY trader I'm a little bit "piggish" this morning.
Not able to determine the bias so far.
But in the last 3 hours I won at least a bronze medal.

Be nimble on the USD retracement.
No major scheduled news today beside the georgian russian conflict.

This the heritage I inherited. I am the eldest of my family book now. Therefore I am seal bearer.

In the Qing Dynasty 大清帝国 1644 to 1912., the Dragon Dance team of the province of Foochow (Fu Zhou) was commissioned in the court at Peking. Greatly praised and admired by the Qing Emperor, he bestowed on them "Qing Long"

Therefore the decendents of the Fu zhou inherited "Descendants of the Dragon Throne" (龙的传人)

It symbolizes the bringing of good luck and prosperity in the year to come for all the human beings on earth.

my trader mindset is off and puzzled...after so strong of a bull, the retrace not so strong...still I went short, made my day target and the book is happy...I feel that greed could really kill me today...so I am out for the day.

I am quite flat today.

The USD Bull seems to be intact but experiencing a little retracement.
The bears strength seems discipating even as we speak. I look forward to a two way battle ahead, bias is Bull USd.

I hope that you may appreciate that it is not possible for me to check all the emails that I receive daily. This is esp so for spam and mail from unknown sources.

On the subject of brokers credit risk, I would have to disappoint you that I am trading spot interbank on banks customer desk now. As my testing of retail ECNs is incomplete, I am unable to comment, just.
