hi there, EAs goes into the experts folder. Indicators goes into experts/indicators folder. make sure you put them in the right place.

as for online manual. you can check out http://docs.mql4.com/
I learn everything I know from there. there's forum, articles and a proper documentation. It'll not only get you started, but also get you going.

thank you very much for the configurable version, I'm playing with it a lot.

News: the system is very cool and can produce a lot of pips of earning with good costance. In my opinion there are too many losses here.

losses are due to multiple orders in the same direction with the SL always caught or because the system just produced a false segnal.

this is my resolutions (to test):

1) use a different money management for the TPs, ATR is okay but we must have a different system for the multiplier.
here's mine

SL = 1*ATR (from entry price)
TP1 = 0.9* ATR (from entry price) this choice is due to save the early earnings
TP2 = 1*ATR (from TP1)
TP3 = 1*ATR (from TP2)
Level4 (we don't call it anymore TP because it's not a TP): 1*ATR (from TP3)

When Level 4 is reached we don't close any position, instead we put the SL of the last fourth remaining at TP3.

Now, the money management of the fourth lot:
Level5 = 2*ATR (from Level4) when it is reached, trail the SL to level4
Level6 = 2*ATR (from Level5) again, when reached, trail the SL to leve5

and so on. Multiplier=2 there.

At the time I did it, it wasn't a issue, because the last signal would have to come from either RSI above 60 or bellow 40 (different values).
Now that it's configurable, it's better that way.

Corre, I envy you for having played that much already with our "baby"
I will maybe start a little tonight or tomorrow, but with real attention, notes, etc... only maybe next wednesday.

Just keep testing and posting your analysis, results, better setups, etc.

even if I don't post results and tests I'm always working with numbers.

I just ended to count the 50-50 system without MACD and it works far worse than the 60-40 one.

we keep the 60-40 (for now)

if you're interested with it the 50-50 one gave us 3510 pips, about the half of the 40-60

If I have to be honest I'm starting to wonder about a completly different system of money management with just a "TP1" as big as the losses...
but I still don't have a definite idea, so nothing to say for now.

I'm really looking forward to adding the new TP/Level4 thing to the system, that can be a nuclear bomb again the loss

your counts gave us something like 6000... mine a third of it *_*
please check this.

the 50-50 version gave me 3000+ pips gain with my data supplier please check it with yours to see if it gives 10000+pips

may be the miscounting is due to our brokers

Hello everyone , and thanks for the Great Work and Time put into this EA....as i have said in an earlier post , i'm new to this whole thing and have been trading manualy on a live account and am doing well buy following the indicators .... But my Question is , with so many changes or updates for the EA' s , which EA matches or is simular with the templates that have been posted ..... i'm confused . I want to dummy trade with the template on one window , and also dummy trade the the same or simular EA on another window , both same time frame . to make sure the arrow dosent repaint itself and compair the too from each other .... and see what the results are ... Can You help me with this ......Thanks again for Your time .......

the best indicator we came out with is the configurable one, I still haven't downloaded the EA and I'm not interested with it yet.

As I said, I think this indicator is still at a developing stage.

Regardless of differences between data suppliers, I don't understand your counting. In your case:

Loss = 101 * (23+23+23+23) = 101 * 92 = -9292 pips;
TP1 = 156 * (23+0+0+0) = 156 * 23 = +3588 pips;
TP2 = 35 * (23+46+23+23) = 35 * 115 = +4025 pips;
TP3 = 22 * (23+46+69+46) = 22 * 184 = +4048 pips;
TP4 = 23 * (23+46+69+92) = 23 * 230 = +5290 pips.

Total pips gained = -9292 +3588 +4025 +4048 +5290 = +7659 pips

This, of course, doesn't count spread, or drawdowns caused by possible consecutive lost in the beginning.

WAAAA COOOOL i forgot to multiply *4

I keep on counting with the SLbased system (the one I used from the beginning):

SL = 1
TP1 = 0.25SL
TP2 = 1.25SL
TP3 = 2SL
TP4 = 2.5SL

till here it's ok, the same calculations.

then we have to multiply the results to make them SLbased

with our numbers

+156*0.25
+35*1.25
+22*2
+23*2.5
-101
______
83.25

now I just added *23 but I had to add *4*23 because a SL is 4*23 not *23

so my correct result would have been: 83.25*4*23= 7659

ok anyway I modified a little the indicator and I counted all the 2006 and the 2007 (*_*)

the results:

EURUSD
2006
L = 248
TP1 = 184
TP2 = 85
TP3 = 49
TP4 = 60

ATR med (can't calculate so I chose to stay very low) = 20

Results = +12180

2007
L = 279
TP1 = 154
TP2 = 99
TP3 = 48
TP4 = 66

ATR med (read above) = 20

Results = 11540

and I am SURE that the Level4 thing when it will be coded will bring GREAT results again. something like 20000 pips a year leaving the system to trade alone



The last modify:
Use the configurable indicator MODIFIED in this macd part of the Code

// Long Signal
if (sto_main > sto_signal && value_point > ema && rsi14 > RSI_Buy_Value && macd_main > 0)

and

// Short Signal
else if (sto_main < sto_signal && value_point < ema && rsi14 < RSI_Sell_Value && macd_main < 0)

what I modified is the part of the code that used the signal line in macd and not the simple level of the main line of the MACD. We just returned to the original version by effilang, so in the credits this has to be adressed to him not to me.

anyway you have just to put a 0 in both the lines replacing the macd_segnal thing

now configure the configurable Indicator like this

New things to say: I noticed that many times we hit the SL and then the segnal goes in the right direction so the problem maybe it's just in the tightness of the SL.

I'll work on the ATR Multiplier and I'll find something cool for sure.

edit: I'm also attaching the new indicators already modified

The only thing the really baffles me is that I still have many ideas that can improve the indicator *_*

Until now, I wasn't able to make a good test with the EA...
Maybe because my demo account is defined with a small amount and 1:50 margin (I kept the values I had on my real account, in another broker), and I was used to buy with amounts (not lots) of any quantity...
So small account + small percent of available margin = not enought money to buy 1 lot?
I'll have to better look it up later.

Going to my job now (at night).

You've got me a little bit lost here, in the middle of all this counting...

Here you said the 50-50 worked far worse than the 60-40 (didn't say in which pair(s)), but after that, you started using always the 50-50, as being the best one...
Can you tell us which gave you more pips, and in which pairs? (One pair isn't enough to take conclusions)

I suggest you choose 1 or 2 other pairs (for example, one of the worse previous performances and one of the average), and test their performance with your last changes, against the previous countings.
This is to evaluate the changings you made, in pairs with different behaviour.

I've been forward testing and on all pairs besides usd/chf and gpb/usd i get 2008.08.05 00:07:26 EMA_25_EA_beta3 EURUSD,H1: Error opening SELL order : invalid trade volume
or
2008.08.05 00:09:05 EMA_25_EA_beta3 EURJPY,H1: Error opening SELL order : invalid stops
or even the
2008.08.05 00:09:03 EMA_25_EA_beta3 USDJPY,H1: Error opening SELL order : invalid price

I'm not a coder.. and probarly never will be but it seems like its a bit of a code issue. For ref. it is like that for Buy orders as well not just Sell.

I'm not a coder neither... just able to code a little in Indicators, but I'm not familiar with the EAs logic.

But it's good that everyone who is testing this EA keep posting the problems found, so that Zen (or anyone who has this kind of knowledge) can debug it.

that was the *4 miscounting phase.

I counted the 50-50 first time and I had 3000+ pips. And withouth counting anything I thought that it was the half 60-40 system you counted.

Some days later I counted the 60-40 system and I saw it was about 1900+ pips so I found a problem (a miscalculation problem, obivously).

anyway we had 50-50 being 3000+ and the 60-40 of 1900+.

When you made me realize the error in counting it was just a matter of multiplying per 4.

And so we had the 60-40 giving us 7500+ pips and the 50-50 9000+ pips

I just counted on EURUSD, ok. but backtests seem pretty solid
