is there such a function that takes the sum of the values for a specified period..sort of like iMAOnArray is for moving average, is there an iAddOnArray??

Nope, you're stuck iterating over the array and adding it up.

Well can't you just write a simple For Next function that returns the value of the sum of the array, and save it to the library like you can in C++ ?

Then you could call it when ever you needed the sum of an array... I actually am surprised someone has not done this. Maybe that is one of the differences with MQ4...

Wouldn't something like this do it?

Or am I just stating what everyone already knows? I am a little slow that way lol

That's pretty much it. Here's what I'd do, assuming the array values are integers.

    int iArrayTotal = 0;
    for (int i=ArraySize(somearray)-1;i>=0;i--)
        iArrayTotal += somearray[i];
