USD/HKD carry trade?

I noticed today that while a long USD/HKD trade only pays $1.53 per 100k per day in interest, it's been either flat or going up for the last 10 years, except for a few spikes. At 100:1 leverage, it works out to 49% APY, or at 50:1 it's 29%,ignoring any change in price. (Spreadsheet is attached.)

Not bad for what looks like a pretty low risk investment... has anyone tried this?

Anyone up for USDHKD carry trade..I think very aggressive carry trade for 15 to 30 days could earn more money than waiting for 12 months..cos lot of variations come into picture....its better to do carry for few days than wait for the whole years..USDHKD looks very very good short time
