Hey Mate

Looks like I cant use your EA. After installing it I get this statement on my chart....This version can only work with Demos and specified accounts. How is that? I mean what does it mean?

Thank you for updates. after updated and restarted MT4, but the chart still show "AshFX AutoTrader v1.0b", it's ok?

It shouldn't. All of my EAs will work on live and demo accounts. It's possible that the broker you're using doesn't allow EAs.

I don't have Oil on FXDD to see the setup. At least, I don't see the symbol. Do I need to use a different server, or do all of FXDD's servers carry the same instruments?

What's the per-pip value on spot gold on a full contract? I don't have XAU/USD on my demo, and I'd rather not 'find out' using my live account.

If its Metatrader too, right click on market watch tab and click show all. Alternatively you can click symbols and choose the ones you want to display. I only found this out a few months back, didnt really bother me cos it showed all the main pairs. But with ODL I now see gold, oil and a few other commodities too. I can even see the stock market indices and shares, though i cant trade them with my account.

It means the EA has determined your trying to run it on a live account. I don't believe at this point the EA is ready for a live account. When all have agreed it's ready then I'll be more than happy to release a version that works on live accounts.

I don't wish to be responsible for erroneous code costing someone real money and people should be shy to use it live just yet anyways.

It should show v1.0c. Could you try it again?

Don't close any charts. Just the platform (MT4). Overwrite the old EA with the new and reopen MT4.

Not yet... I will post one when we feel the EA is bug free. There's not much to this EA but I would rather people don't use it on a real account for now.

Let me clear things up.

I specifically programmed the EA so it will not work on live accounts. It's being tested right now and it has nothing to do with your broker. When it looks good then I will release a live/demo version. A perfect example is the recent update I just posted. I reposted the EA due to a bug I found. It was not updating to break even (noticed on AUD/USD). It's a good thing it wasn't live since I noticed the AUD/USD got stopped out a break even today after I updated the EA. While I tested the changes I also manually changed the SL on the 2nd AUD/USD like it should have been if things were working right. Once the change was made I reset the SL back and watched for the conditions to be met again and made sure the EA did what it's supposed to do.

Now where would a live account be if the EA hadn't updated the trade to break even like it should have. You may have been in a live trade now with negative pips when it should have stopped at 0 because the first order took its profit. And if that were the case the posts from everyone would be on a more angry note because real money is at stake.

Does anyone really think this is a bad approach, to test and get it bug free before throwing it blindly onto a live account with real money? I believe it should be done that way.

Can anyone else confirm this? I will repost the EA if others are having the same issue.
