TJ and company; the sad part of this all is that (I feel like) America has lost it's way, of sorts.
We are made fun of on every continent (even penguins laugh!) for our arrogance and our cockiness and it may be well deserved. But look not only at our national budget and the billions we spend to stabilize (no, not DE-stabilize) countries, rebuild economies and humanitarian projects (not to mentioned the blood of our finest on foreign soil to "enforce freedom"), but look at our charitable giving on TOP of this! We are a giving, caring people, but if we don't take responsibility for our own "house" very soon and make choices that are in OUR best interest, we will not be around to help others.
There was a great interview with Reagan from the '60s where he was asked about America's perceived military pursuits. Reagan replied "Sir, at the end of WWII we had power, money, weapons and actual presence in many places in around the world, yet we took no land in those countries except to bury our dead. Can you say the same thing about other countries if they had been in the same position?"
We've made our mistakes and we're paying for them, but this Friday, I will celebrate a Grand Ideal: people, when guided by faith and freedom, will triumph over dictators, monarchs and systems every time.
So, how about that GBP/JPY retracement today?! Have we formed a temporary top?...
