The upper fib formation--- weak jobs.---.Oil rally highs --- exports---holds the gbpjpy below 21260 when it breaks there then its ready to make a rally...

ok i misread it, but it 212.5 aint gonna hold, i say and if it goes to 209, then a fall will take place.

Hi Clouds,

Well from a fundamental perspective, theoretically he is absolutely right and if the market was being sensible this would happen. But there is a difference between theory and reality and the market especially G/J can reject all reason. But it cant ignore reality forever.

As for currently, on any timeframe lower than daily we are in a clear range and are neither bullish or bearish until broken. And it has been pretty easy to make money this week in this range buying from 210.90 and selling at 211.75.

The range will break eventually; fundamentals incontroveritbly suggest down; technicals (in my opinion) favour down. Trends dont last forever and i have recently received numerous daily time frame reversal signals. I guess we have to wait and see.

Also i think that completely ignoring all news is a bit dangerous; some news has the ability to completely change market sentiment and reverse outlooks which will directly affect buying pressure.

I see a IB forming in 1 hr. It's going to be a breakout. Don't know which way though. My guess to put a buystop and sell stop on both side of the daily open.

Just I'm bullish on all /jpy pairs, aud/jpy, eur/jpy, nzd/jpy, and now added gbp/jpy to my list 3 months ago. not sure how england is in such trouble.... good luck to you too

Aren't you doing the same thing stating it will go up and it cannot pass 211.25 to the downside?

I don't think anyone would say they are bearish on the yen pairs over the long term, however when trading intra-day you can be bearish and bullish in the same 24 hour period.

Overall I am bullish on GJ, however my charts tell me she needs to see a corrective fall back to her recent swing lows before she can break to the upside by any significant margin. Does that make me bearullish?

I still don't like G/J so far but I'm still bearish on G/U and E/U for that matter.

they both stopped at the weekly pivot but it wasn't a very high bounce it looks to me that they are just getting out of oversold on the 30min and 1h to make another drop. The only thing that buggs me is that the DP's are so close we could get close above that and go up.

on the other hand looking at the 4h chart when it bounced up off the WP it seems to have been caught by the 50 ema right now the candle is right on it or a little above it. that candle closes at london open for me so i'm hoping frankfurt open will help point me in the right way.
