Is this something an EA can be written for testing purposes? I would but I don't have a clue on how to do that.

For some reason my MT4 triggered the long trade, and I lost about 70 pips. I'll have to check and see how that happened. I didn't think it would have reached it.

What happened is that I entered a BUY STOP at yesterday's high plus 23 pips, but in reality you have to enter the BUY STOP at yesterday's high plus 23 pips PLUS the spread. My spread at IBFX was 9. So I should have set the stop at 212.23 where it wouldn't have triggered. But it improperly triggered at 212.14.
I think Bill mentioned something about this early in the thread (the fact that there was a disproportionate distance between the buy and sell triggers). Adding the spread back into the buy entry evens them up, which is something I think needs to be done.

I didn't set up the buy or sell stops on my platform last night, but according to FXDD figures, I think we would have gotten a loss today. The previous day low was 210.78 and the low today was 210.55, which is exactly 23 pips below the entry and thus a sell trigger. I'm curious what entry numbers you had.
Didn't mean to rain on anyone's parade -- just want to make sure we are honest with the results so we can ascertain the actual profitability of the system.

Well, it doesn't actually matter what broker you use. Your buys and sells will be imbalanced if you don't add your spread to your buys. See post #23 where Bill explained this.

different brokers do have different number,..i got Long Entry: 212.19....i never add spread...

Well, it doesn't actually matter what broker you use. Your buys and sells will be imbalanced if you don't add your spread to your buys. See post #23 where Bill explained this.
