are there any brokers thats cool with scalpers. besides ndd.


btw, IB - need 25k to get started trading forex. not an option.

MBT/EFX - I'm hearing how these guys are pseudo-desk-dealers. anything negative? can they be trusted?

any others i am not aware of?

i would really like to get started on live soon.

I have addressed the reasons I won't trade w/ EFX on the EFX thread in the brokers section.

OANDA

1 pip spread on EUR/USD and low on all others.

and all scalpers welcome.

Why is that not an option? There are plenty of non-scalping strategies here on FF what are largely profitable. Use those to build up that 25k and then expand to your scalping strategies. There really is no reason why you can't do it that way.

While building up your scalping capital, you can demo trade your system on the side and refine it so you don't blow your account.

MBT is fine and should work.

Also, Oanda does not like scalpers so that should not be considered.

There is no problem scalping with Oanda. I do it all day long. I average 2 pips a trade, and average trade time is 6 seconds. And before anyone asks, yes, I trade live with a decent sized account.

I scalp with oanda, no problem, maybe cuase I don't trade with HUGE account, but i've never had a problem doing upto 10$ per pip,
what problems have you had with them?

Hi ILclitoride,

Perhaps you should consider that its not the broker that sucks.

Oanda (that's 31 for those of you with enough time to count) is my primary broker, so perhaps I'm drawn into discussions that pertain to an entity that I do business through. I'm not trying to promote one broker over another (there's no financial incentive to do so); I'm only trying to share my experience and opinions with those who may want it. If you disagree, that's fine.

IB only requires $10k to open a Forex account. Here's a general overview of the few brokers recommended....

IB- Min $10k account, 50:1 leverage,EUR/USD spread usually 0-1, Cheap commissions, ECN
MBT/EFT - $400 to open account, 100:1 leverage, EUR/USD spread usually 0-1, expensive commissions, ECN
Oanda - No minimum to open account, 50:1 leverage, spread EUR/USD fixed at .9, no commissions, reputable MM

All 3 allow scalping, it's up to you who you want to use.

I scalp with FXDD and I made sure I received a written agreement with them whereas they have no rules regarding scalping. They do limit trades up to 50 standard lots.

To this day, I have not had a problem with any of my trades.

I usually get flamed when I recommend FXDD, but I know of guys with EA's that place 400+ trades within 5 hours without problems.

I really dk why a scalper wouldn't at least consider trading with them.

Hi Boston Forex,

Most scalpers that I know don't use EA's, and the MT4 platform was definitely not designed with scalpers in mind. With scalping, you need to be able to enter and exit trades quickly, and from what I've seen, that's not easy to do with MT4. Perhaps others feel differently though.

b.s. - I have a live acct with O. and i scalp.

edit: they don't like programmed/automatic/electronic programs for scalping.
