Thanks ASH for the encouragement. I'm learning on these long time frames you have to hold em and have a stomach for negative pippage in order to let these trades play out. Even if you hit your stop loss you have to follow the rules and look for the next setup. Unlike Pipnailer on the lower TF's these are long term and more productive. So you end up trading less, with higher probability and profitability. It is a mindset that has to be developed through repetitive practice and taking losses is all part of it. The beauty of this beast is more time away from the computer and not having to look at charts on lower tf's constantly going back anf forth to confirm indicators.

I think you need the [1] with Open and Close to check the prior day instead of the newly formed bar. Hardly any trades passed the Stoch test from an EA point of view when used as a daily trader. (This may be because the EA is checking the Stoch on the newly formed bar? haven't figured it out yet) I used the numbers below to start with before changing to variables on my daily trader.

If the Stoch test is too low, a new test needs to be added to avoid re-entry on a trade recently closed at TP. I used a PSAR test checking to see if middle had changed in the last 3 bars.

On the AskFX EA I am playing with having the second trade's SL being moved to BE+?? when the first trade closes for a profit. Then trailing the second trade by a large amount. Making sure the EA does not open any more trades while the one trade is still open.

You can say THAT again.

Being used to M5 scalping, this is a new ballgame for me.
It helps to walk away and do other matters, even better if you would have to leave the pc alone, LOL

Also interested to hear what the TP is from Ash.

So still in the CJ.
Out of the UJ after a fast scalp, just don´t rust it at the moment.

NO additional trades have been taken anymore by the EA after this EJ one.

I'm going to go against my original plan and short usdjpy. I'm getting a good price after today's action. That should outweigh the my self perceived risk of taking this trade. Fingers crossed it doesn't break that resistance.

I'm pleased when I get part of a forum post to look right! Editing an EA is so beyond me. I'm still letting it run with EachTickMode True now but at this time no trades. With everyone's help hopefully we'll get there. Sorry, but I'm about as much use as a chocolate fireguard right now.

Ok, I replaced the appropriate arrays with their "i" counterparts. Hopefully it works now. I'd do the testing myself, but I'm using Notepad to edit the EAs =D.The office computers won't let me install stuff.

Guys just informing you that I'm still holding my long for Eur/Jpy from a few days ago.

Closed my first half of position for just under 300 pips, and letting the other half run till the AO closes red.

Good Job Ron.
I don't know how you can do that with Notepad. I have to put about 20 print commands around changes I make and then try to compile about 10 times per change before I get most changes to work properly.

The new AskFX EA takes trades now with 'Each Tick' set to false. Back testing the EA with defaults only opened about 3 trades a year on the USDCAD.
For the back test shown below, I changed the Stoch main to 90 10 and signal to 80 20 instead of the default 50 50. This does not match the visual conditions or the rules. That is why I think something is still a little off.
EDIT:
I think the EA is following it's rules. There are not many trading opportunities to enter a trade following a strict interpretation of the Stoch rules and not using SS Trade rules.

Before the EA never took any trades. So a big improvement.

Backtest:
My results are not accurate as accurate as I would like. It is for EA testing only. I am using data with Sunday Bars because that is the only half-clean data I have. Not all testing perriods were as good as the one shown.

re: the eur/jpy this I asked about this am, the reason I took the trade is I had ODL meta platform and it showed a psar dot at the top of the candle. The Platform I usually us is IBFX and it does not show the psar.. Can anyone explain the difference to me??

Hi Ash,
What is your SL for the USDJPY? and how did you calculate it please? Also, What was the price you entered short?
I think what is happening here is going to be a very good example of money management.
