i would rather make 3 or 4 trades a week to get 400 to 500 pips gain, rather than paying my broker the spread with 50 trades a week for the same gain. Brokers love short time frame traders.

My IBFX broker charges 9 pips per geppy trade usually, not counting the news time spreads. If i made 20 geppy trades this week then I paid my broker 9 pips times 20. Do the math.

What 3700 pips in 4 days?! Even though I'm a bear optimist, I"m afraid that type of move is a bit out of the ordinary, of course if Lehmans were about to fail, then.... anything is possible. In all fairness though this type of move would not be very desirable as the swings both ways will be outrageous, taking out any possible add ons easily.

The main source of event risk on Friday is the U.S. Consumer Price Index report, scheduled for release at 8:30am New York time. Increasing anti-inflation rhetoric from the Federal Reserve since last month's report, plus the recent sustained rise in oil and grain prices, suggest that this CPI report might attract more attention than usual.

in the past 3-4 weeks i made 1300 pips on cable in 2 trades, 1050 pips on euro in 3 trades, all posted on this thread, you can go back and check. i will dismiss your post as it's irrelevant to my style. you will rarely see someone making 6000 - 8000 pips a month with only a couple of trades a week. i think i'm doing good. and i don't mind paying my broker 5% or more of what i make if i would make 5 times more than a normal trader.

if only i can trade like lilmoe who often gets 50 to 100 pips a trade and more than once a day, i would pay my broker double. realy if you make enough for your self, give ceaser what's ceasers.

If cpi prints hot, the stocks should sell off today and the risk aversion to kick in, if not than the recent gains in the dollar would be reversed for a short time period at least, perhaps providing better enries. All in all I smell a panick selloff on the dow, maybe?!

Children, children it is not how many pips, but what % gain your account enjoys, pips are irrelevant... Risk matters, 1 min to go....
