You would have to look at the price action / buying pressure of the UJ compared to the selling pressure / price action of the GU.

If the GU is dropping at a faster rate than the UJ is going up then of course the GJ will go down.

If the GU is dropping at a slower rate than the UJ is going up then GJ will likely go up

You would also have to monitor gold and overall index action both in the US and EURO zone. I f risk assumption is prevalent in the markets then this might also effect the direction of movement of the gj

he replied cad, but to answer your question, being long eurusd and usdchf, is same as being long eur/chf. if you long eurusd and usdchf, one may be negative and one positive, but end result may be positive pips. in fact, it's same as being long usd/jpy and long gbp/usd, as gbp/jpy.

I understand that in either case:

EURUSD + USDCAD = EURCAD

and

EURUSD + USDCHF = EURCHF

That was not my question.

My question is irrelevant at this point as he is not long USDCHF. He strikes me as a more long term trader. And if it is a long term trade, I just can not see the justification for assuming after years of the EURUSD and USDCHF being 100% opposite trades, that today of all days this is going to turn around.

I was simply asking for some analysis on a trade I did not understand. I DO understand USDCAD long. I DO NOT understand a mid to long term trade with both EURUSD long AND USDCHF long. This is what I was asking for, which has been deemed irrelevant as this is not his trade.

Not offended Q just tired, I love this thread, learn from it daily, and hope perhaps my posts have some educational value.

If my trades look conflicting it's probably cos I've yet to fully understand the r'ships twixt certain pairs, I do trade mid-term as well as scalp, and they're based on trend analysis, s/r, and price action.
