One of the main problems I've had with precognitive trades is telling the good dreams/visions from the wishfull thinking experiences. When I look back at my dreams I notice that the dreams that seemingly come from nowhere for no apparent reason have the best predictive power. Likewise, when I'm consumed with thoughts of how much money I can make or loose on a trade, my preconitive abilities become clouded and usually have little or no significance.

What are your thoughts on this? Is greed really so powerfull?

Ok Here is my prediction for all you people out there. We have just seen the top for the DJIA today as of 19th May 2008 at 18:57 GMT.

What you will now witness is a great big fall down to at least 12370, do I have a crystal ball, no, can I predict the future again no. But I can predict market tops and bottoms.

You all can do it, but it will take work, dedication and confidence in your own ability which comes when you can trade and make money.

Don't believe the hype the markets is still going down and the fall has just begun.

I will also put my analysis on the line if enough people are interested.

Ok, I'll share one of my most recent precogs, but first, I must say I got a laugh from something posted in the learning section of verdicalfx.com. It says Elliott Ness created the Elliott wave principal in the 1930's. ELLIOTT NESS? He was the leader of the legendary "Untouchables" during the prohibition era. Ralph Nelson Elliott was the accountant responsible for the Wave Theory.

A couple weeks ago I spent most of a day watching GBPJPY and by evening I had decided to go short. As usual I looked for strong areas of resistance to place a buystop order for protection. In this case the stop was about 200 pips from entry. Safe enough I thought, but just in case, I placed the stops 50 pips below resistance blah blah blah...

About 2:30AM, I awoke from a sound sleep because I had a dream that I had just been robed. I don't have many dreams that I can remember so I was curious and felt that I should check my position. Sure enough, the market had recently taken out my buystop and was beginning to return from the resistance. My intuition told me to close the buystop for a small profit, which I did, then I also entered another short position and a new buystop well above resistance. Long story short, I bagged nearly 400 pips by the end of the next day, and I owe it to a dream.

Other times I have awoke with visions of price spikes, only to find that the actual chart had done just that. Last night I had no dreams, but slept cumfortably, just like the market. I managed to squeeze out 17 pips from a quick scalp today, but I had to wait patiently for hours for the right opportunity. Frankly, I'd rather trade in my sleep and make hundreds of pips.

For sure you are having precognitive dreams . Very genuine. You are transcending events (time) at night and perceiving the future. Very nice to hear. Kinda fun isn’t it! Very effective strategy when trading FX. And its nice to have so many night time friends.

I to have to sometimes waits hours for a pattern to develop, sometimes days for the pattern to manifest and complete itself. Maybe just 17 pips, maybe 170. I love the sport.

I hope you will post more of your dreams as they come to you. I would love to hear of them. They are worthy of listening to. There also might be other traders out there that are trading on the same news source.

Currently I am focusing on the EUR/USD. I use to focus on many pairs at the same time, but it got so confusing at night. I was talking to myself in my dreams, "which one are you?" Hey your the JPY, get over here with the USD and leave the GBP alone!", etc.
Yes, hope you will post more.

PS. You sure Elliott Ness is not the same guy as RN Elliott? Didn't RN Elliott carry a machine gun with his calculator? (Thanks for the editing tip!)

Now, I used to get some pretty good trades by reading the dog droppings.

If the turd was pointing up, I would buy the Euro.
If it was in two pieces but it was still pointing up, I would buy Cable instead.

The best trades came when the dog would squeeze out a piece of crap
in the shape of a "J", because then I knew (and I mean I KNEW) that the
Japanese Yen was about to break out.

Of course, I had a few "shitty' trades, but that's to be expected when
your dog is managing you trading account.

Learn to read the turds. If you don't have a dog, ask a friend if he or she
can help in this regard. I hope you all make a huge pile (of money, that is).

Interesting... you obviously have extensive first hand knowledge about dog shit. You're detailed members profile says it all. It's easy to see how you've become such an accomplished trader.

Here's a bit of history: The US had, until the Republicans took majority control of Washington, funded much research in the field of precognition. The CIA was hoping to use it to aid international investigations. Of coarse there's no practical use for it. After all, Osama Bin Ladin was trained by the CIA to fight on our behalf. Coincidence? A little research goes a long way ... i.e. do a Google search on the subject before dropping little dog turds in public!

So much for the potty mouths...

Today at 6:05AM EST I woke to the sound of my son yelling "pull up your garder belt dad!" My first thought was I should stay married to my long GBPJPY position, so I checked the charts. Sure enough, price had just broke to the upside for about 100 pips and I stayed married but I pulled up my "garder belt" (that's stop, for you shit heads) and once again I'm sitting pretty in all my micro glory. Actually I've been doing so well lately that I recently upgraded my lot sizes to mini.

So, what does a crapologist do for a living exactly?
Was that you I saw in the "Jackass" movie?

This is the discussion thread, so I am interested in hearing how the images come to you. Is it a concious effort? Can you create them at will? As I said before, I sometimes wake up with images of market movement in my mind, but I see candlesticks. Can you give us some evolution history of the process you now use?

As far as my abilities go, I think I have more of an out of body connection with the market in real time rather than a predictive talent; although, if I interperate the dreams correctly they can give me a general sense of what to look for. If I'm correct, my most recent dream implied that I should keep my long bias with this pair but at the same time I shouldn't allow so much room for the sellstop orders. This analysis coincides with my congnitive analysis for this pair that I made a couple weeks ago. As it plays out in real time my precognitive abilities manifest themselves in dreams and intuitive reasoning and as long as I stay in touch with recent market moves everything moves along smoothly.

Your post has brought up many very interesting concepts which to me as a student of precognitive events, are fascinating and enthralling. I agree with your assessment that you are having out of body connections, and you seem to have a very good intellectual grip on the whole process you are going through as well as how to utilize your precognitive skills in real time trading..

If I have listened correctly, you are long the GBP/JPY and maintaining a bullish stance with tight stops. Tell me more about that cross:

A pip in the GBP/JPY is how many $?
The margin requirements are?
The general conditions of the two economies are?
Why is the pair now rallying?,...why did it fall so far in the last 12 months? Your upside target is?
What are the dealers looking for with these two currencies?
Your interpretation of the strength/weakness of each countries economy is? During New York hours the spread is usually how many pips?
On average the daily (interday) swings are how many pips?
Why did you pick this cross as your trading target?
And any other data you feel is important.

Tonight (tuesday many 20th) I will switch my atttention over to that cross and compare notes with you tomorrow via FF and via my site: www.veridicalfx.com. I will post any PROFORMA CHART on my site and here at FF.

We can see if pooling our respective talents enhances productivity

You pose many questions.
1st a pip in GBPJPY is worth aprox $1 on a full lot.
I focus more on the interest rate differential than general economic conditions since this a pair used for carry trades. Currently GBP interest rate is about 3.5% higher than jpy. Neither country has indicated a strong desire to change rates soon so my monthly outlook is for a large range somewhere between 212.00 and 199.00. I gradually switch my bias as price moves away from the monthly pivot.
I don't have answers to all your questions, but I will say that price is currently near its monthy pivot and price action is likely to remain uncertain and choppy. Market makers will try running stops when they see an opportunity.
The daily swings are usually between 100 and 200 pips lately, my broker has a 9 pip spead and that will widen during major news times. I have open positions at all times, but will hedge before major news events or close out all positions if I feel it is advantageous.

I have been concentrating on this pair because it is volitile and nasty at times. I get bored easily and need adrenlin to function well. I feel that the wild swings of the GBPJPY create more tradable areas of support and resistance at good distances appart. I do much better when I concentrate on one pair at a time, and even though it is currently in chop mode the GBPJPY offers me many scalping opportunities.

BTW I just checked my positions and currently I've banked almost 200 pips on short scalps on the retracment from this AMs move up. Life is good!

It will be interesting to see you switch from one pair to another in such a short time. I've been watching this pair for months every day and running visual back testing to get a feel for the price swings.

This will be fun.
