Hello everyone......

I wanted to let you know that I think I have found a way to perfect the H4 trade and believe it or not, it looks like you would be risking 3x less than your TP.

Not tonight though, I want to look at this one more time and I need a good nights rest.

Hopefully tomorrow however.....

Here is my trading update for 05/13/08.....

Update 05/13/08:

ATP 3+1=WIN

AUD/USD: Today there is no Actions.

EUR/USD: Today there is no Actions.

NZD/USD: Placed a short pending order on 5/9/08 @ .7688. This trade triggered on 5/9/08. Until I have five closed bars, I will leave the S/L setting at 250 pips.

USD/CHF: Today there is no Actions.

USD/JPY: Today there is no Actions.

USD/CAD: Today there is no Actions.

EUR/CHF: Today there is no action. Previous trade stopped out at 120 pips.

EUR/GBP: Today there is no action.

GBP/USD: Today there is no action. On 05/08 I Placed my ATP Pending order short @ 1.9501 with a 300 pip S/L and no T/P. The order that I placed on 5/5 has triggered and is past the 5th closed day since this trade triggered. I will leave my S/L at 375 pips until a candlestick closes beneath the bar that closed on 5/9/08 since this is the lowest low.

EUR/JPY: Today there is no action.

EUR/CAD: Trade place on 5/12/08 should be cancelled based on a closed green bar AC. Since this could have been our 3rd possible trade since the SWI D1 went to red, we will stand down on any further trades until the SWI has went to green and back to red again. It appears that this is a somewhat ranging market and not the trending market we are looking for.

GBP/JPY: Today there is no action

GBP/CHF: Today there is no action

BST-D1

GBP/JPY: Long Trade @ 203.82 with a 150 T/P and a 100 Pip S/L and a 100 pip T/S

GBP/CHF: Long Trade @ 2.0577 with a 150 pip T/P, a 100 pip S/L and a 100 pip T/S.

That should get us caught up for tonight......

Damon, It looks like on the bstd-d1 trades you're entering at 1 pip+spread above/below high/low as opposed to entering at market. is that true?

This is correct and the way I usually enter all my trades as a rule of thumb.

Except on the short where I go 1 pip below with no spread figured in.

Hi Damon,

Give this try and see what you think. You could enter with multiple contracts and scale out at desired pipage. I'm testing with stop at the low of the last 3 bars to include the signal bar.

Settings:
FasterEMA: 1
SlowerEMA: 120

This looks pretty nice. I think I will make some rule for trading it. It looks like we can take some good short term pips and some good long term pips with minimal losses.

It looks good no only for H4, but D1 as well. Major pips possible on either TF. I have only done some looking so far on GJ, but I would imagine that most every pair would need its own set of profit and loss rules.

Hello Everyone.....

I really need some sleep tonight and so I will not be evaluating any charts this evening (unless something changes)

I still want to do a more thourough test of the BST-H4 trade as well I think I have found a way to add EJ as a BST-D1 as well with some slightly different settings. and in fact will be taking an EJ trade tonight.

I will look more into this after some much needed rest.

GBP/USD: Today's bar closed below the 5 day low and so I now will move all my S/L setting for all open orders to 1 pip + spread above the bar that closed 5/12/08 Based on the AC being green and the trade being short, I would go back and take the highest high of the last two bars. I am hoping for more downward movement from this pair. On 05/08 I Placed my ATP Pending order short @ 1.9501 with a 300 pip S/L and no T/P. The order that I placed on 5/5 has triggered and is past the 5th closed day since this trade triggered. I will leave my S/L at 375 pips until a candlestick closes beneath the bar that closed on 5/9/08 since this is the lowest low.

BST-D1

GBP/JPY: Long Trade placed yesterday triggered and is still opne. Today I will place another Long based on the 3,7,3 MACD closing in Lime and my first trade triggereing. Long at 204.24 with a 150 T/P, 100 S/L and 100 T/S.

GBP/CHF: Yesterday's trade did not trigger. We will leave this trade open because 3,7,3 closed again in Lime, but no new trade will be entered as the first trade is still pending.

EUR/JPY: Based on the 6,14,6 MACD I am going to place a Long Trade @ 162.37 with a 125 T/P, 75 S/L and a 75 T/S. Unlike the other BST-D1 trades where you place an order each lime or Red bar, with EJ, you just place one on the every 1st Lime or Red bar.

You suggest moving the stop on your first GB trade above today's bar.But that does not seem to follow the stop rules you laid out below. Have the rules changed?

 

  1. Once a bar has closed Below this Low Point, you will then look at the color of your AC indicator.
  2. If the AC indicator is Green you will use the Highest High of the last 3 Closed Bars including the one that just closed.
  3. If the AC indicator is Red, you will use the Highest High of the last 2 closed bars including the one that just closed.

yes..you are right, but I thought my first move was above the high of the bar that stopped below my 5 day low. I get confused sometimes because i went through so many scenarios when I was looking at staying in this trade.

I know I was looking at this at one time, but I might have changed it because 1 or 2 times the bar that closed below didn't get me very far away. yeah.....That is probably it.

Anyway, since I go through so many rules, let us leave it as it is written which would put my new S/L at 1.9637 for both open orders.

where would the latest instructions be? I have seen the instructions been modified here and there and am not sure which to follow. Does the PDF file that Legace compiles is the most valid?

Thought I get this confirmation before trying out the trades again.

GBP/JPY from 5/12 currently up +88 pips
GBP/JPY from 5/13 currently up +48 pips
EUR/JPY from 5/13 currently up +25 pips
total+61 pips

so far so good

Hey dave....we have different results....

My first GJ trade had a 100 pip T/S and closed only 20 pips in profit and my GCHF did not get stopped out.

I had my S/L order place at 2.0467. Where was yours placed?

buy stop executed yesterday am 203.90
stop at 202.79 w/ 75 pip trail
the stop moved once to 203.54
trade is still open at + 73pips

my entry price may have been different because i traded off the candles of the broker i trade with (not an mt4 broker)
i hope i explained that right.

and what about the exit strategy. gbp/jpy macd now dark green instead of lime. do you let it ride and wait for red/maroon before closing manually?

Let your trades ride, I did not look at what happens with open trades once the color changes...That should be something on the list.

The trade stopped out becuase of my 100 pip T/S. Price moved more than 100 pips up and then came back 100 pips and closed me out automatically.

yes...that is why your bar closes earlier than mine and so your entry price was different. That would make sense.

Based on the bullish bar with GU yesterday I have opened up a side trade long with at T/P at 1.9525 and a S/L at 1.9400 and a 45 pip T/S

Please do not trade this live. This is based on candlestick formations and TL's which I am now starting to learn.

Trade hit my T/S for 6 pips in profit

EUR/CAD: I know that I said we should stand down on EC, but the market has been ranging for too long and so placed the order today Short at 1.5388 with a 375 pip S/L

GBP/CHF: Today there is no action

BST-D1

GBP/JPY: Long Trade placed yesterday triggered and is still open The trade placed the day before closed using my T/S at +14 pips.

GBP/CHF: The trade is now open. We will also place an additional long order at 2.0589 with at 150 T/P, 100 S/L and a 100 T/S.

EUR/JPY: No action today. Yesterdays trade has triggered and is open.

All of the aforementioned trades were stopped out today for losses.
gbp/jpy total -147
eur/jpy -81

that seems to happen a lot. when i have a winning trade going and i let it ride, it seems to always turn around. and if i have a losing trade going and i close it manually, price turns and it would have been a winner!
