ATP (Advanced Trading Philosophy): 3+1=WIN

This system has been posted for less than 1 week, hopefully the only person trading it live right now is the original poster. Everyone else should be forward testing in a demo account.

is there a post somewhere explaining proper use of the Damon smNonLagMa_v1? or did I miss it?

Yea Magnum but it's just an update of an older system.

For that last few days I have been diligently searching for a profitable short term D1 strategy that I could incorporate into the ATP 3+1=WIN long term strategy.

I have looked at many things, but until tonight I had not found anything that looked like it was really working up to the caliber that I would have liked.

My one filter for this strategy....that I wanted something that i could feel completely comfortable with while trading at 5% risk.

I hope to post my findings after I am done managing my trades.Me very happy

Here is my trade management for 05/09/08

Update 05/08/08:

AUD/USD: The pending Long Trade placed above the bar that closed on 05/06 is still pending because based on the close of the AC which at this time is still green.

EUR/USD: Today there is no Actions.

NZD/USD: Placed a short pending order today @ .7688

USD/CHF: Today there is no Actions.

USD/JPY: Oppsss...this was not the trade that tirggered as posted yesterday. Today there is no Actions.

USD/CAD: Today there is no Actions.

EUR/CHF: Today there is no action. The order that I placed on 5/5 has triggered and it is only the 4th closed day since this trade triggered so I will leave my S/L at 200 pips.

EUR/GBP: Today there is no action.

GBP/USD: Today there is no action. On 05/08 I Placed my ATP Pending order short @ 1.9501 with a 300 pip S/L and no T/P. The order that I placed on 5/5 has triggered and is is only the 4th closed day since this trade triggered so I will leave my S/L at 300 pips.

EUR/JPY: Today there is no action.

EUR/CAD: Trade place yesterday has not yet triggered and will remain open according to the AC

GBP/JPY: Today there is no action

GBP/CHF: Today there is no action

Not sure how you got a sell signal for EURCAD since the previous closed weekly MACD bar is showing a buy?

Hey TF....I actually am not using the MACD Colored Oscillator. In a few rare occassions I was getting different readings.

If you check just the MACD, you can see that the close of the last MACD bar on W1 is not sticking up past the smoothing line. This tells me that this is a sell signal.

I put the the two indicators side by side and it looks like a close call since the Smoothing line had a reading of 0.03736 and the histogram a reading of 0.03752. Obviously the histogram was above the Smoothing line but not enough based on your rules that the histogram should be sticking up.

Yeah...it could go either way. But in my chart evaluations, the histogram kept us out of a few trades we should have been in and yet didn't keep us out of any we should not have been in. Although I did not look at every pair for every entrance in detail, just at a glance.

okay...I am off to bed. I didnt't get a chance to give you my short term trade tonight, but I will try to get it down over the weekend. It is a very simple trade for GJ on the H4 and D1 charts with a set T/P, S/L and T/s.

It appears to be very profitable. I am also looking at one other trade that will work for most of the pairs, but I need a break before I can look into that one an farther.

Okay...we now have a very easy to spot and fairly easy to manage Long Term Trade....3+1=WIN, that will work on virtually any pair (not all, so do a little research first)

Now I would like to introduce you to my B.-ch Slap Technique - D1 (BST-D1) which is a trade specifically set up for trading GJ on the Daily Time Frame. I hope that you all enjoy it. I am expecting that this only works on GJ because of it's volitility. I have not really researched for other pairs and will probably not pursue this with other pairs.

Indicators:

1. MACD Colored Histogram with settings 5,13,6 Applied to the Open.

2. Same indicator as +1 with settings 3,7,3 Applied to the Open.
   1. Under "colors" switch the Maron and the Red around. This should make things easier.

3. Accelerator Oscillator (AC) by Bill Williams which comes standard on your MT-4 platform

Stop/Losses, Take Profits and Trailing Stops:

BST-D1 is a series of two trades that can happen in either order. Each trade should be placed 1 pip + spread above the high of the set-up bar for a long trade and 1 pip below the low of the set-up bar for a short trade

The general parameters for each of the two trades are as follows......

1. Stop/Loss: 100 pips
2. Take/Profit: 150 pips
3. Trailing Stop: 75 pips

Trade 1 of 2:

For trade 1 of 2 you will be using the AC. You would enter the trade as specified above whenever the AC switched colors. ie. Whenever the AC closed in red you would place a Short Order and whenever the AC closed in green you would place a Long Order.

This trade is only pending for one day. If on the day after you place this trade it does not tigger, you should cancel the order.

If Sunday's bar is the trigger bar and it has penetrated either the high or low of Friday's bar you should stand down from this trade, Otherwise use the Sunday bar, except place your orders based on Friday's high/low.

Trade 2 of 2:

For trade 2 of 2 you would be using the MACD Histogram with the settings above. There are two entry points for either a long trade or a short trade. This trade should remain pending until you hit your T/P, S/L or the MACD closes in the opposite color.

If Sunday's bar is the trigger bar and it has penetrated either the high or low of Friday's bar you should stand down from this trade, Otherwise use the Sunday bar, except place your orders based on Friday's high/low.

Long Trade Entry Points:

1. Whenever the MACD closes in green
2. After the first entry has been placed, continue to add positions every time the 5,13,6 and the 3,7,3 MACD's both close in Lime Green only (don't confuse with Lime Dark Green). Once the 5,13,6 closes in Red, go back to the first part of this entry strategy.

Short Trade Entry Points:

1. Whenever the MACD closes in red
2. After the first entry has been placed, continue to add positions every time the 5,13,6 and the 3,7,3 MACD's both close in Red only (don't cofuse red with Maroon). Once the 5,13,6 closes in green go back to the first part of this entry strategy.

General Rules of Thumb:

1. If both trades trigger at the same time, place only one trade and use the rules for the AC
2. If one trade was placed and did not trigger by the time the next trade was signalled, do not place the order for the second trade. Leve the first trade ride or swap it with the new trade if the case may be.

Well...here we have a very nice compliment as we are waiting for our Long Term trades to tirgger. Once again, I believe that you will find this to be very high percentage trading.

I just have one more to give you and that is the B.-ch Slap Technique - H4 (BST-H4) it is different from the D1 version but just as effective.

This has been a nice journey and I thank everyone for the help that they gave along the way, but after this I will probaly have no need to look for any more trades to make as I don't think I would know what to do with anymore pips.

It is NP TF.....I needed to do this for myself. So I could relax and enjoy my trading without jumping around all over the place.

The good news is that I believe now I have fulfilled my trading strtaegies goal and can now fulfill my next goal which is becoming a trader that makes a living with his trading.

I am still not done learning, and may start on some other things incorporating trendlines. I am not much a fib man, more of an a** man really, and so I really have no desire to have them on my charts, but trendlines is something that I would also like to be able to read.

With that said, I will post my H4 method this weekend yet and then I will still keep my journal going for the 3+1=WIN on this thread as it really helps me keep things straight and know where I am at.

Hello....

I just have a few minor updates for ATP 3+1=WIN. Here they are....

 

1. I am currently throwing around increasing my S/L settings from 200, 300 and 400 respectively to the pairs to either 300, 400 and 500 or 300, 450 and 600. I am still undecided about this and so for now will leave things where they are.
2. I am also looking at adding CJ, AJ, NJ and AN to the pairs that I will trade this philosophy to. I did not include them in the past because they did not work with the original ATP philosophy

Okay...I will now introduce you the B.-ch Slap Technique (BST-H4) for trading the H4 TF.

This could possibly be modified and made more efficient for anyone who can check there charts every 4 hours, but I can only check my charts briefly in the AM and then in the PM, so I may not be able to maximize the complete Pip Potential.

Indicators:

2. Same indicator as +1 with settings 3,7,3 Applied to the Open.

These are the same settings used in the BST-D1, so no need to change anything, just switch to the H4 chart and you are all set to go.

BST-H4 is a way to trade when both MACD settings are in agreement. Each trade should be placed 1 pip + spread above the high of the set-up bar for a long trade and 1 pip below the low of the set-up bar for a short trade

The general parameters for each of the two trades are as follows......

1. Stop/Loss: 60 pips
2. Take/Profit: 100 pips
3. Trailing Stop: 60 pips

We may need to watch these incase they need to be slightly adjusted as they are very tight.

Long Trade Entry Points:

1. Place your order anytime that both MACD's have closed in Lime (not to be confused with Dark Green).
2. Keep the trade pending until the 3,7,3 closes in Red or Maroon

Short Trade Entry Points:

1. Place your orders anytime that both MACD's have closed in Red (not to be confused with Maroon).
2. Keep the trade pending until the 3,7,3 closes in Lime or Dark Green

Well...It is that simple. Now we have another nice compliment to go along with BST-D1 and ATP 3+1=WIN. I believe that you will find this to be very high percentage trading style.
