This is the fisher indicator that is supposedly like solar wind but it does not repaint. I don't have any experience with at all but here it is.( if i attached correctly!)

Hey dk....thanks.

I have set the period=2 and compared it too the current SWI settings, and although it looks good, I think we should stick with what we have currently.

Thanks for passing that info along

Hi,

I modified the SolarWind to make the ACS3 version and I thought of clarifying the questions about it.

SolarWind and Fisher Transform are same (I originally worked with Fisher indicator). SolarWind is just a fancy name. They both use the same mathematical formula of Fisher (which was introduced to stock markets by Ehler). They both have two versions (in MT4 versions). One version calculates the values from left to right and the other version from right to left (which I consider to be wrong, but some people like it and so I have made SolarWind-ACS3 with both options). If you set the Smoothing to zero, it will be more noisy but no repainting and the option does not matter (all options will give samething). If you change the default option, then the smoothing will add delay and no repainting.

As Damon said, the repainting happens only when the values are small to begin with. With the default setting, all the bar values will be calculated backwards, but that does not mean all would have changed color later. Just one has to be careful if the color change bar has only tiny value (some people use a minimum value to consider it as a signal, like +- 0.3...).

Hello everyone....

For tonight I see no trades that we would be able to take. I was able to place a few on H4, but I won't post anymore of those until I go over the rules.

The great news is that I think we can add another trade on D1. This will be a totally seperate trade from what we are doing and will have a set T/P and S/L. Just going over this breifly, it looks like a person could make a living on this trade alone.

Just one more thing to get to.

Have a great night everyone and we'll see you again tomorrow.

Recap:

1. SolarWind-ACS3:
- With Option 2: the calculation is backward, therefore no lag, but the indicator repaints because of the backward IIR filters. Also, after the indicator forward painting for awhile, reattaching of the indicator shows a different repainting from the forward chart due to another bug in calculating the “limit” index.
- With Option 1: the calculation is forward, IIR filters introduce a lag of 3 bars. But the “limit” bug also causes the indicator repaints.

2. Fisher-Yur4i2k: the calculation is forward and IIR filters are correct, a lag of 3 bars. No repaint. No other options.

So, I combined the two to produce the new SolarWind-TK. All inputs and options are same as SolarWind-ACS3:
- With Option 2: the calculation is backward, no lag, indicator repaints (due to backward IIR filters) but remains the same after reattaching (No “limit” bug repaint).
- With Option 1: the calculation is forward, 3 bars lag, indicator no repaints.

Hope this help. Enjoy!

Damonl,

The indicator is still repainting but it is really minimal and that means all is well.

Do you take your trades at some specfic time i.e. beginning of a new candle like it used to be?

Also, do you apply your MACD to close, open, high, low or what?

I have done the indicator and I am through with it. It is attached here.

I need more clarification on the MACD entries. What I programmed is as specified by you but what I initially did was according to my idea and that is, (For Long Entry) if the MACD is below 0 and the MACD main is greater than the signal. The current MACD main must also be greater than the previous and the MACD signal (current) is greater than the MACD signal (Past). This seem rather perfect but it is against your setup so I rectified and changed it to your exact settings.

For the settings, you only need to adjust the Lower_TF_Period and the Higher_TF_Period. The current values are set for Daily and 4H.

For Daily Candle Trading, where you will be using W1 and D1 then use 10080 for Higher TF and 1440 for Lower TF

For 4H Candle Trading, where you will be using D1 and 4H then use 1440 for Higher TF and 240 for Lower TF

For those willing to test on 1H, use 240 for Higher TF and 60 for Lower TF

Will be waiting for your exit rules.

The New Indicator is perfect because when all signals green then it is perfect setup to enter long and when red it is perfect for short.

I will be posting my 4H & daily trades too. Damonl, you can always make correction on that basis for posting your trades.

Mr. D Just a sugestion if we could replace lagging macd (save screen space) by overlaying momentum indi (mt4) period 14 level 100 on ac or swi.
cross above 100 buy, cross below 100 sell, just a sugestion for your approval or rejection

Availdollars,

Did you take your time to backtest what you suggested? The momentum lags like hell. Compare it to the MACD settings and you would discover over 3 bar lag.

Thank you guys for all the effort
Here are my readings:

GBP/CHF AC is curently red and I belive it is going to close red too.
GBP/USD AC is curently green
USD/CHF AC is red
USD/JPY MACD is not clearly above the line
And there is AUD/USD long in making.

There is still time for things to change in next few hours, but that's how I read it now
So I belive that the Damonl 3+1 indicator actually shows signal from the last close bar and does not repaint, right?
I use ODL GMT time zone.

You were right but use take trades using only last closed bar. Current bar is not considered in trades taking and the indicator I made will only signal the last closed bar.

Your observations were right.

All the same, watch out for the signals by the new indicator I attached. Let me know if you find any fault(s) so I can rectify them.

I cannot actually take my time to forward test using small TF for the AC and MACD's.

On dailies we have the following valid trades;

AUDUSD - AWAITING MACD L TO TURN GREEN (THIS WILL BE SEEN AT THE END OF TODAY BECAUSE THE CURRENT VALUE IS STRONGER THAN SIGNAL VALUE)

EURCAD - AWAITING MACDH TO APPEAR RED (THIS WILL BE SEEN AT THE CLOSE OF THE WEEKLY CANDLE BY FRIDAY) AND THEN AC TO TURN RED TOO

EURGBP - AWAITING SWI TO TURN RED WITH AC TOO (THIS WILL BE SEEN AT THE CLOSE OF TODAY BAR)

EURJPY - AWAITING MACD L TO TURN GREEN (THIS IS DEFINITELY FAR FROM BEEN SEEN TODAY)

EURUSD - AWAITING AC TO TURN RED (THIS IS VERY LIKELY NOT TO BE SEEN TODAY TOO

GBPJPY - ALL SIGNAL ARE CURRENTLY GREEN AND CURRENTLY THE MACD MAIN IS GREATER THAN THE SIGNAL SO IT IS CONFIRMING AN UPTREND. ALTHOUGH THIS MAY CHANGE BEFORE CLOSE OF CANDLE.

I noticed about 46 views on the indicator I posted and there has not been a single comment on them.

Let someone make a comment as regards the indicator and let us know if it is ok.

I have tried running some backtest and found it is refreshing but it would be better if someone can test it using 5M (High TF) and 1M (Low TF) and let us know the outcome of the testing i.e. if the indicators conform with the laid down rules specified by Damonl.

Also note that the SWI and AC are based on the last closed bar.

It is real time saver . When you are looking to enter daily trades and are tracking the weekly MACD on the indicator I assume each day it is lookng at last week's closed bar which will be fixed for the current week and not the current weekly bar which may be subject to change during the week. Is that correct?

Thank you so much for the indicator, right now I really tested on time, but I will compare the rules and everything ASAP, probably in the morning, when I do my forex stuff.

Thanx Again
So far the indicator board looks good. But for some reason, the UCad and GY arent showing the MACDH color and U/C isnt show SWI for mine, I will post of up the screen shots later, maybe I might be doing something wrong. Will definately get back to you.

So a follow up and related question to walesoje1.

With high setting at 10080 and low at 1440 for D1 trades is the indicator looking at the last closed candle or the current open candle for the MACD-L

reading? I assume previous closed but wanted to be sure.

and ditto chucks comments, a real time saver. thanks . i like it.
